Prince Attends Tony Awards After Parties. Not much info on what he did here, but it's breaking news, so...
Prince Provides the Capper to a Great Tony Award Night
Monday, June 08, 2009 Music, Theatre / By Roger Friedman Prince — yes, Prince, the Purple One — capped off the hottest Tony Award night in about 20 years. He showed up unannounced at the Hudson Terrace on West 46th St. where, four Broadway shows were having Tony Award after parties. He sported a long diamond studded walking stick and several burly bodyguards. He had no idea it was Tony night, knew none of the shows and didn’t care. He’s Prince. West Side Story? For some reason, I can see Prince trying to get in with Broadway to do a musical of some type. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

The thing that bothers me, is the writer's assumption that Prince knows nothing about Broadway plays, and writes it as fact. There's no way he didn't know it was Tony Award night, and he's likely aware of what's happening on Broadway, so 2 speak. "He's a musician's musician..." |

...PRINCE IF U READ THIS...please..can u do YOUR version of west-side story??..i F-E-E-L u have some version in ur head from a L-O-N-G time ago..let that creative story come OUT,please!!..it can be like a ballet/romeo juliet/..i don't know exactly but it is there..i smell the $$$...plus it would be BEAUTIFUL..

Yup. Quoting myself. Well, Dr Funkenberry cleared that mess up: Speaking of Prince, it was reported that he attended the Tony Awards last night and at an after party met Karen Olivo, who is starring in West Side Story. It seems Prince said he would be attending the show next Tuesday and purchased 20 tickets in the balcony to make sure no one is sitting next to him. 20 tickets? We are being told the ticket situation is being widely exaggerated. Karen Olivo is a married woman and did attend the Award show and after parties with her husband Also, a few years ago, Prince was put on a list of people who bring very little of an entourage with him, usually himself and someone else while a bodyguard waits in the wings. Janet Jackson would bring the most usually an entourage of 30 people. His 2 tickets sound more believable in this economy than 20! Although…I am sure Karen Olivo would be kind of geeked while performing and looks up to the balcony and only sees Prince there!-Dr.FB . [Edited 6/9/09 7:30am] "He's a musician's musician..." |
