It's a draw between "Private Joy" and "Let's Work". I used to hate "Annie Christian" as a kid. It was just too weird for me. It's certainly grown on me as I've grown up. That whole side of the wreka is just so well laid out. It's odd because even when I was a kid, Controversy seemed like a transitional, dare I say "incomplete", album to me. Something was just odd about it. Not in a bad way. But knowing the stuff before it, then having something incredible like 1999, PR, etc after it, it really was an album he was growing up with.
If Dirty Mind was Prince telling dirty jokes w/ his friends, Controversy was the high schooler fucking under the bleachers at a football game. 1999 was getting your first bachelor pad and shagging until you passed out. | |

That is my favorite song off of the entire Contorversy album anyway. "Always blessings, never losses......"

Best song on side two would be Lets work, or Private Joy.

Lets Work easily, the only song that matches the sheer brilliance of Side 1. Funky, danceable and a great example of MPLsOUND
Private Joy is ok, Jack u off too, but a bit silly and Annie Christian is weird, Ronnie talk 2 Russia is a throwaway track Best song on album is DO ME BABY So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time | |
