Another Lonely Christmas 
Jus got into this track recently and lovin it! The heavy guitar, the echos, make it sound really good... I can't believe I used to skip over this! Also it sounds VERY heartfelt. Is it true? Did he lose a lil gf by death when he was younger? -----

Man, I remember when this song came out. Few months after Purple Rain.
B-Side to I don't remember what (have to dig out the vinyl).. Probably Take Me With You. Prince was all over the airwaves so much that you could hear this playing on suburban diner-booth juke boxes... There's a rehearsal boot out there where he working out the song with the Revolution.It's pretty cool to listen to the progression of the session, culminating into a full band recording, as opposed to a Prince-24 hour stint in the studio by himself. Guess he wanted keep the live feeling that Purple Rain offered at the time. I'm sure Prince wouldn't appreciate others observing how the sausage was made, but it's interesting to be the fly on the wall though. cracknbush | |

It isn't available on official CD, only 12". Also it sounds VERY heartfelt.

Unfortunately the extended version is only available on bootleg CD's. I burned mine onto CD from my record. Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for. |

It's so funny when people comment that they just got into a song recently, and the song is 20+ years old. Funny in an amazing way!
I remember the first time I heard How Come You Don't Call Me Anymore. It must have been about 1990. Well this song came out in 1982, and was a 1999 B-Side. I was like... "Where has this song been all my life????" 
I had never heard Prince play the blues, and I was FLOORED! Amazing song. With that being said... congrats on your discovery! One of my all-time faves... def in my Top 20... maybe Top 15. The public is squeezin' you kiddo. You'd better kick ass on your next album or else! |
