The Kooky Tracks I was thinking of putting together a compilation of all the shamelessly tuneful, slightly loopy tracks, which kind of constitute a small sub genre. The kind of things I'm thinking of are:
Private Joy Starfish and Coffee Dionne All the Midnights in the World Personally, these are all some of my favourites. I like it when Prince does something slightly mad. Does any one have any other suggestions? I'm testing postive 4 the funk

I'm not sure this is exactly what you are looking for as the kookiness in your examples was heavily supported by the lyrics, but musically I'd consider P Control quite "different", just because of that synth line and the crazy falsetto in the chorus.
A more fitting song in your list would be Tambourine, in my opinion.

Did Prince ever record Manic Monday for himself, I wonder. I'm sure he did but has a Prince demo of that song ever surfaced? That would be in line with my thinking. I'm testing postive 4 the funk

I was also thinking My Computer, which is kind of a sad song and not really that much fun but still a bit left field. I love my Rimbaud avatar too... I'm testing postive 4 the funk
