Who remembers the 1988 Entertainment Weekly story on Prince? I just watched this tape again for the first time in the longest, and when I first saw it, it was great - but that was because I had only been a fan for a couple years, and so ANYTHING on the man was great! But now that I look at it again, it kinda leaves a bad taste in my mouth. And it gives me that much more reason to side with Prince, for his desire to make sure that what is said about him in the media doesn't sound like this.

I'd probably remember it if I saw it, but right now, I've seen too many to know which one it was.

I think you're thinking about "Entertainment Tonight"..."Entertainment Weekly" is a magazine and I don't believe it was around in '88. But yes, I remember this! It was a profile and it exploited the "2 sides of Prince" angle since he was on the Lovesexy tour at the time. If I recall, it was a fairly negative piece. They showed a clip from the "Prince Spaghetti" parody commercial and then showed the ad's creator talking about how Prince at first was going to sue them and then found his sense of humor. I also seem to recall Sheena Easton being interviewed about the tabloid stories on her and Prince. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
