When the Saints - rehearsal questions So, I was listening to a bootleg that I find fascinating. It was Prince rehearsing with the Revolution. He had "vocal rehearsal" and they warmed up with "When the Saints Go Marching In".
I'm sure a lot of you have heard this bootleg before. But they don't just play it once. He really exhausts the song and they really do a good vocal warm-up. That got me to thinking (because I am in a band myself) what do you all think his regular band rehearsals consist of? For example, do you think he always has vocal rehearsal first? Then run through the songs? Jam time? I know a lot of bands that practice just run through the set list once and call it a day. But we know Prince has extensive rehearsals. So what do you think (or know) to be his band rehearsal routines? This is purely speculation, but it's good to know for any musicians out there!

I don't think he always has vocal rehearsals, and it almost seems like this one was an off-the-cuff sort of thing. Wendy was very new, and he was really ribbing her during the rehearsal. I LOVE this track though. The first boot I ever bought in 1994 or so was Prince In Rock. That track was on there. TOO funny.
Have you heard the "DMSR" rehearsal where he sings "Dance! Music! Sex! Romance! Pizza! Hot Dogs! Rootbeer! PUSSY! That's a perfect weekend!"? The best.
