I always belived it was Mayte.. found his writing about kid bothering a tad

I don't believe it's about Mayte, based on the "a simple ballad 4 an old friend". She's not an old friend, she was a current friend. Old friend would be someone we have no idea about. (Or that chick he talks about in "Schoolyard")

I happen to be listening to "Emancipation," right now...I actually put it on because I saw this thread.

I thought this would be a good place to give it up for the song, "Style."
