Prince and Annie Lennox

Wow! I wish these two would work together on something, I`d bet it would be amazing, what do you think? Annie maybe to much for Prince to handle, she comes with the thunder and hides behind nothing.

I unnno....I love annie...don't get me wrong...but her style is a bit subdued for prince. She kinda walks a straight line while prince is wearing his crooked thick soled sandals.

annie has a beautiful voice

and prince can adapt 2 any one's style...so I think this is
a good idea...but prince might have too much of an iron fist
for annie...she don't take no shit...lol

Think about the song he did with Ani Defranco on Rave. Something along that vibe with Annie singing. Something very organic and raw.

I'd love to see "I could never take the place of your man" by Annie Lennox in the style of her Eurythmic's hit, "Thorn in my side".

I'd rather see him do something with Ben Harper. Now that would be a collaboration.

You've not been paying attention. She did have a greatest his compilation a month or two ago, and it had two great new songs on it, plus a few one-off singles included on the set. There were videos to both new songs I believe. They are awesome songs.

It's a great set. I'm not sure if there's a special edition or something. You might check online, depending what you want. I don't think there is though. At least I never heard about one. I kind of expected a set like this since she was dropped from her record label after Songs Of Mass Destruction.

A fantastic match vocally. In the studio? I dunno. Ms Lennox aint taking any shit and she has her own sound just like Prince. I think these two might butt heads when it comes to composition and arrangement and having final say; that is unless P can refrain from putting his stamp on it.

I've never considered them collaborating...it would be quite cool

Annie said when she released the complilation that she was done recording for a while and griped about the music business (no big surprise there) and she said she hates touring! Never did get to see her live but heard she is excellent

I would think the voices would clash a little - but Annie and Prince's Guitar - now that is a match made in musical heaven.

I not sure about that idea. 20 so years ago i remember hearing that Madonna and Prince had done a duet for her new album. Bought the album and listened to that track first (Love song). Boy, was i certainly disappointed with that track. Two great artists and they come up with a lousy track like that. Madonna and MJ did a better job.

To be honest i thought it was the best song on the album but was far too subtle for madonna.
Annie Lennox-no way. I understand people thinking she is cool but she aint really. She is quite middle of the road on the quiet, turned in to the usual british institution type. All her solo stuff is tinged with dirge

yet 20 years down the road, lovesong still holds up as a very good, solid
track. i've always liked it, never understood why people dislike it that
much. perhaps because expectations run too high when two artists as big as
they get together. people expect something mythological.
