Printable2 any1 who thinks this fool is Prince...what r u thinking, hearing, ASSuming is real ? This is sooooo not Prince. Most of u should know better, Prince would never say half the silly shit this dude is saying. Nor would he b so 4th coming in his dialogue. Come on "fans", "fams", whatever...open ur ears. Actually, I stopped caring, and only listened 2 a short clip a few times. I do admit, I am intrigued.
I've already mentioned what didn't sound like him: When he said "God" (in "Jehova God"), "exactly", and "side" (in "on the side")... those didn't sound like him. The other stuff could easily be altered slightly from the phone line, especially if a cell phone was involved. Just sayin'. As far as folks saying things like, "Prince isn't that forthcoming" or "he sounds 2 casual"... I just don't think those hold any ground... Prince has been casual like this before. The only other thing I wonder is HOW can the radio station say that Prince is aware of the controversy, and he's going 2 call back the station. How can they keep that ad up for the interview without Prince having them kill it? "He's a musician's musician..." |

You know what makes me think it's not him? This voice is slightly different, Prince's is a little deeper and NO-ONE can imitate his laughter. This person says too many times err, err (not like a pirate arr arr ) and the way he speaks sounds made, Prince takes his time too to think but Prince says mostly intelligent things, not about BBQ's, if we know he's a vegetarian, him being safe in public places etc. It sounds fake. I have a few telephone interviews and Prince sounds BAM, strong, charming, witty and thoughtfull. This person sounds, just different.

A publicist now says an interview with Prince on a popular San Diego morning radio show was a hoax.
The interview aired live on Star 94.1 late last week, promoting a concert gala that had been planned for the North County. That gala, booked at the California Center for the Arts in Escondido, was cancelled last Saturday, after several celebrities came forward saying they had nothing to do with the event, even though they were named as supporters. Maureen O’Connor, an Executive Vice President at the public relations firm Rogers & Cowan, now confirms it was not really Prince speaking with the radio show hosts during a lengthy interview. The man claiming to be Prince on the “Jeff and Jer” show promoted the concert event, supposedly benefiting an organization called the Children’s Media Foundation. He also answered several questions, on topics ranging from Prince’s childhood to his latest projects. The event’s organizer, Michael Kinsell, had billed the concert as a star-studded gala tribute to the late children’s television pioneer, Fred Rogers. Kinsell originally said he hoped the concert fundraiser would set a San Diego record for the most celebrities in attendance. But then representatives for Tom Hanks, Sally Field, Eddie Murphy, Sarah Jessica Parker, Danny DeVito and Governor Schwarzenegger all said the celebrities had no ties to the Children’s Media Foundation or the gala. PBS and the producer of “Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood” also said they had no association with Kinsell or the event. He fooled me. I do have a great ear, and have heard Prince casually speaking, but I got duped. I heard the small clip a couple of times on small lousy computer speakers, and got excited. He had a lot of stuff down. The words I already mentioned that didn't sound like him made me doubt. U don't usually hear Prince say "Jehovah God"... he just says "Jehovah"... also the way he said the word "God" was not Prince's way of saying it.
