Just listened to this song for the first time in a looong time!

I got into Prince in 84, so when I started looking into the back catalogue obviously I discovered The Time.

I loved Ice Cream Castles and What time is it, but I thought the first album sucked big time. The production is the worst Prince EVER did!

Then, one day in about 1986, I was bored and I put the album on again. For some reason, The Stick, blew me away.

I think i'd only then discovered that songs don't need to be 3 mins long, and a groove goes a long way.

To this day, "The Stick" and "Girl" remain two of my favourite songs Prince "Gave away".

I'd love to hear Prince update the two as a double A side.

I love "The Stick".The first Time album is very good.Not great but very good."Get It Up" is STILL da jam,and "Cool" is no slouch either.But "The Stick" rivals both of those songs,imo.
