Prince probably listened to a lot of music as a child and sang along with songs that he knew.

[Edited 5/26/09 14:53pm] I remember him saying that at the beginning of his career it 'hurt' his voice to sing in his normal register, which is why he always preferred singing falsetto, and I think he had some voice lessons to help with that. But I think mostly his vocal range is natural. His Mom was a jazz singer wasn't she...? | |
