america 21-minute video... anybody know where/when this was taped? i should know, and i'm sure i have it in some book somewhere...but just watchin' and GOOD GAWD is he possessed...nasty, too nasty. In Nice if I'm not wrong. I think he was meant to film a single song and he played an inpromptu mini-concent. I haven't seen this. Does he play America for 21 minutes? Is this different to what was used for the America extended 12" version? Life it ain't real funky unless you got that orgPop. | |

I am not sure if there is such video available. I am aware of a 5 minutes plus video were he plays America live in Nice in 1985, but it is different than the 12". | |

All I know about is the Live in Nice '85 - and that was slamming! He looked cool with the head scarf and hat and all - just raw and real, with a bit of show. "Eddie, M, blow ur horn!" Oww!

The live video isn't the 12" version. And the 12" isn't 21 minutes of wasted tape. It was 1 of the best Revolution recordings. The whole band were really in2 what they were doing/playing and the song would have been longer but the tape ran out. Prince was gonna leave in the sound of the tape running out 2 but he changed his mind. | |

I heard once that he messed up dying his hair blonde (to look like the character on the album cover with the cloud guitar). And that his hair was ginger under that scalf and hat !!! | |

In the full length version of that performance video he removes the scarf and his hair is black. Sorry to dissappoint ya. | |

of course, it's not the 21-minute studio version but the funky extended version on video...which thanks to y'all i now know was in france while filming UTCM...thanks!!!

Some1 has done their homework and read "Prince: A Documentary"!!! :I: have the book and I have the "America" video and it is Live. and that's 21 'wasted' minutes of AUDIO tape!!!
