Some of the old stuff I'm working at home today and i'm listening to some of the old less avaiable stuff and it really is unbelievably good. I confess to not knowing much about most of it. But there are some stand outs that maybe some of you guys can give me some info/details on? Jelly Jam 1977? This has to be one of the funkiest things ever. I love the complexity and speed of this. Anyone know much about it? Rock me lover! - Sounds like a demo, but has some good chicken scratch style guitar (is that the right phrase?) Purple Music - I love this, and presume from the date and sound that it was written around the time of 1999? Is this a bside or unreleased as it sounds familiar (might just be the 1999 album sound?) Feline & The line - Very funky sound like loads of other things, but most like black album material to me ?? If I could get a decent version of Fuschia Light I would probably explode cuz it sounds truly fantastic Any info would be great. I'm sure some of you guys know the score cheers [Edited 5/26/09 4:19am]

First recorded in '76, then re-recorded in '77, incorporated into 'Just As Long As We're Together' (if you thought it sounded familiar, that's why). jasontate said: Rock me lover! - Sounds like a demo, but has some good chicken scratch style guitar (is that the right phrase?) From 1976, this one of several tracks recorded as a demo on a cassette player. jasontate said: Purple Music - I love this, and presume from the date and sound that it was written around the time of 1999? Recorded 1982 - Unreleased. jasontate said: Feline & The line - Very funky sound like loads of other things, but most like black album material to me ?? Feline - Recorded 1984, a left over from The Family album. The rap was latered altered and added to 'Holly Rock' (I want to also add that this was originally intended for Mazarati, but I can't remember 100% if that's correct). The Line - Recorded just before Xmas 1987, during the Lovesexy sessions. Replaced on the album by 'Eye Wish U Heaven', it was later sampled on 'Acknowledge Me'. Fuschia Light - Recorded April 1988, for possible use on Tony LeMan's Paisley Park album (he recorded a vocal, but it wasn't used on his album). [Edited 5/26/09 8:30am]

Would it be rude to ask how you know so much I've got loads of instrumentals from 1977 and they are probably some of my favourite music of all time. I know nothing about it though

From what I've read, Prince offered up Fuschia Light for Tony LeMans' second LP, but Tony was killed before starting the project. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Thanks you guys Do any of you guys know much about the 1977 string of instrumentals in circulation? There are 8 that I have and all are good quality, great music and about 6 or 7 minutes long. Have a Stevie vibe to them, due to the time they were recorded as much as anything I suppose.

The Vault says it was for the first album, I dunno. jasontate said: Do any of you guys know much about the 1977 string of instrumentals in circulation?
