lol..my bad.. There was actually a better thread than that, but I couldn't find it. The argument was made that separating Larry Graham the musician from Larry Graham the Jehovah's Witness is essential to appreciate Graham's contribution to music with Graham Central Station and as a solo artist; it still leaves room to hate Larry's undue influence over Prince's religious views to the point that it's drastically changed Prince's music, and even basic conversational skills at times.

I think Prince is quite capable of making his own decisions, if he felt the need to be closer to God then he made the decision. I think Larry just helped him out. I don't think anyone can push you to be religious.

When Prince's butt came out of his pants, I was too through with Prince, so if Larry is the one that made him put his butt back in his pants, I give Larry kudos.
Seriously, though, I think time changes people to various degrees and Larry just happened to be there at that time of change, the change really wasn't about Larry.

well first off typing in all caps will make people clown you so my suggestion type in normal lettering cuz you seem like your yelling.
secondly Larry ain't as bad of a cat as what you read here cuz he is an awesome bass player that was in the first place one of Prince's musical idols.wouldn't that make us idiots for liking Prince and thirdly I think Prince was more influenced by his Mother who was supposedly a JW and asked her son to look into the religion in her dying days. This part could all be speculation but why think Prince was taken away from us because he joined the religion when we actually still have Prince available to us through his music and shows. I wouldn't feed into people bullshit just cuz they don't accept Prince for what he is. Who are they in their lives that Prince should have to be what they want him to be so they can like him better? Try to be happy for Prince, he appears to be very content with who he is and with his choice to serve God. We haven't lost him by any means. Spiritual growth and understanding is the key to being happy in this life.

Prince is a grown man, that definetly makes his own decisions and if you think that he didn't know about the Jehovah's witness religion before Larry came along you're crazy. [Edited 5/26/09 2:36am]

I thought it was disgusting how Larry moved into the house next door so he could brainfuck on a daily basis. And when the mission had been accomplished and had become a witness, he moved away again. FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!

I think Prince is quite capable of making his own decisions, if he felt the need to be closer to God then he made the decision. I think Larry just helped him out. I don't think anyone can push you to be religious. I've seen a whole lot examples in my lifetime where that is simply a very untrue statement! Especially, when a person is in a very vulnerable time in their life...like after the unexpected passing of a loved one! I've seen with my own eyes, how people can and have push/pushed someone that is suffering into religion. Now I understand Prince is a grown man capable of making his own decisions but before you dismiss anything...go back and look at as many videos as you can find made after the release of the Emancipation CD through today and if you really pay attention and not just drool over Prince, you'll damn near see it happen right before your eyes. That's why I honestly think there is all this sudden bullshit about Prince's image and shit. It's been generalized to include everything to make it look good but for those in the know and know how to find things...ask yourself...which time frame is the hardest to find...then think about what I said. [Edited 5/26/09 5:24am] I knew from the start that I loved you with all my heart.

blame...took away OUR Prince.....lol-he lost a baby-then his marriage-probably felt like he was losing everything important-and Larry helped him. And that is wrong??? Much as some hate to see it-Prince has a life away from music-and it really is up to him how he lives it. It is a bit embarrasing when someone older tries too hard to be young and cool-like Madonna swearing on the radio 1 gig the other year-so fair play that he dont sewar and stuff-its up to him-its not like he didnt do enough of it in the past. With some-he can't win-but to have a problem with one of the guys friends cuz Prince has changed is mad
