Black radio.

clapping Let's hear it for Black radio... especially now Congress is considering a new tax on radio stations that threaten the viability of Black radio.

i start listening to Prince late last year. When i got my Psp for christmas i went to itunes and start download Michael Jackson songs..then i thought to myself who was MJ biggest competition so i downloaded When Doves Cry because that was the only song i ever knew by Prince. then i saw 1999 & Little Red Corvette so i downloaded them.it took 1 week before i gave them two songs a chance an i liked them so i start downloading more songs,an now i THINK PRINCE IS BETTER THAN MJ. an to date i think i listen to over more than 300 or more Prince songs..an i no his whole discography(or something like that),an i have no MJ on my PSP

Dang! I didn't know a psp could download music. Do you connect to the computer using a USB cable? How cool is that!

Oh snap! that's right PSP can connect to a wireless internet. Wow, need to pull out MY psp.

That's right, I bought the PSP for my dayum self... even though I told DH it was for DD. razz

Give the poor fan a chance, I was 15 when I got hooked, and again it was part of the unfulfilled Michael expectation I had (Dangerous took a while to grow on me) whereas Bad had been the theme soundtrack of my preteen and early teen years. And when I was 15 I thought Cream was like the coolest and most greatest song he had ever made too. At least that kid is not listening to FLORIDA or the Jonas Brothers

middle of senior year (about a year ago) I really wanted to see purple rain.
rented it, watched it. watched it again. found myself strangely drawn to it...
listened to the soundtrack over and again...

and the rest is history.

cool I'm glad to see someone your age can learn to appreciate his music! it's rare these days but it does happen!

MY FRIENDS ALWAYS MAKE FUN OF ME.BUT I JUST TELLEM RAP SUCK

I think many of my friends would actually like his music, but unfortunately they don't have a chance to hear it unless I introduce them to his work. They may hear Purple Rain or sth on the radio but that's pretty much it...

My first encounter with hearing prince was at my cousins house. She played me I wanna be your lover and Let's work. I was in elementary school and thought, love the beat, who's the guy with the high voice? Prince! Who's this Prince? Then 1999 came out and that was cool. But being dragged to see Purple Rain sealed the deal. Bought all the back catalogue of vinyls and been listen to Prince every since.

Pardon me, who or what the hell is FLORIDA? Since when is the state a singing group? eek Or did I miss something?

Help me out, I only listen to Prince and MJ. And Apollonia on occasion.

I had heard the song Purple Rain a few times in my teens, then in 1998 at the age of 18 I went out and got Purple Rain the album. I was instantly hooked. Then I bought Sign O The Times while on vacation. It took a little longer to get into SOTT, I got back from the vacation, but when I did get into it I was so impressed. From that point on I bought the rest of the albums in rapid succession. Exploring Prince's music has been the greatest musical journey of my life. Sometime I wish I had been born like 1965 so I could have been there right from the start with For You.

My rediscovery of Prince is a story that saved my life and lead to a wonderful friendship and, oddly enough, Princes music got worse after that friendship died. Bullied at school, had enough of life, new kid started school who was into Prince, reminded me of how good he was, we became best friends and inseperable for years and I was no longer on the edge. Out friendship died when we went our separate ways and gbst time and distance highlighted flaws. Still owe everything I am too him and he will always bevspecial even of we never speak again. Here's to Ben R Jones
