Help me build my playlist... Ok... so I have been a prince fan since I could talk... which would be 2 yrs old (1988)... I know kinda young, but that's I would hear... cause that's all that was ever played.
Now I've mostly heard only the songs that got radio play. What do you think I should give a listen to? I'm really feeling the Camille tracks lately...(a friend put me on those) Just name a few you like... This is not a solicitation for where to find them... I don't know what albums you have to build you a playlist.
I listen to Prince songs and being a Prince fan I am lucky I can pick and choose what to listen to, he really covers every genre of music that I like. I also like his style. Lately I have been listening to Rave. I also like Come, Emancipation, Mplsound, Lotusflow3r, etc I also tend to listen to songs that I have seen him perform live. [Edited 5/30/09 22:48pm] | |

I dunno. I'd start with the '80s stuff, making sure to include all of the B-Sides. But that's me. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot. | |

If your really wanna feel Prince and you like the Camille stuff. Buy "Sign O the Times". Listen to it all the way through first. Then listen to it again. And again and Again. 2 days later listen to "The Ballad of Dorthy Parker" isolated from the rest of the album. You will then have a new appreciation for Prince. From there Either buy "Lovesexy" or "Parade" and do the same thing. Work your way around. It worked for me in 1987.

My uncle... who damn near raised me is giving me his entire prince collection. (His wife is making him do it)... I own some myself... Love the Movie Under The Cherry Moon And though Graffiti Bridge got bad reviews loved that too... Anyone that started in the
vinyl era has had a pretty good time regardless of the order from what i gather. side projects included. Sign of the Times DVD shouldnt be overlooked either. | |
