Prince's influence As we all know Prince has had a huge influence on a number of artists today, such as Maxwell and D'Angelo.

I'll add one. For mainstream, Justin Timberlake. From his 2nd album onwards. From the way he acts in the videos (Sexyback), to the titles of songs, to the 2nd rate looped sampled Prince beats, to the collaboration of other singers in which also is spawned a 2nd rate Prince beat I.E. Alicia Keys, Van Hunt, J'Davey, Macy Gray, and pretty much any recording artist who has taken there music to the internet without a label. When  go 2 a Prince concert or related event it's all  up in the house but when log onto this site and the miasma of bitchiness is completely overwhelming! | |

I think one of the great things about prince is that his influence went beyond pop and R&B in it's impact. Groups/singers as diverse as Trent Reznor to Jane's addiciton to Phil Collins were impacted by Prince. There is also a lot of Prince influence in the European music that came over during the "new wave" explosion. I also agree with the poster above who made the statement about the melting pot. One music is in the air it belongs to everybody and everybody is going to be influenced by it whether they acknowledge it or not. | |
