If I Was Your Girlfriend Have U heard the new song 'Bonnie & Clyde' from Jay-Z and Beyonce?
Here's a part of the lyrics... '...would you run to me if somebody hurt U, even if that somebody was me, Sometime I trip on how happy we could be...' Sounds familiar, doesn't it! aprilsnow www.aprilsnow.tk

I'm still wondering why all these hiphop acts can't just come up with their own original stuff insteading constantly ripping off true artists like Prince.

that song is mind-numbing and I cringe whenever I have to hear Beyonce sing those lines. But I think that the worst song would have to be the new J-Lo and LL Cool J song. There aren't any Prince samples but damn, they did n't even try to cover up J-Lo's thin and whiny singing voice.

An observation from your friend SWANG:
When this song was released, there was some controversy over the song's hook allegedly being "stolen" from from a song from Toni Braxton's upcoming new album. Toni alleged in an interview that a rep at Jay-Z's label had access to an early mix of her song "Me and My Boyfriend" and upon hearing it, Jay-Z decided to lift the hook for use in his song "03 Bonnie and Clyde". Jigga, for his part, denies this. All well and good, and possibly true. Problem is (as someone else here already stated) the hook in question is originally from a 2Pac tune called "96 Bonnie and Clyde". The observation: So this is what popular music has come to. Two attention seekers whining to the press about who has the right to steal what from whom first! Did anybody think to come with their own original idea before all this B.S. jumped off???!!! I mean, I don't wanna bite the hand that feeds me; I happen to work in the Urban/Hip Hop music arena, but facts are facts. And the fact is when you let something as ethically ambiguous as "sampling" become the standard, this is the kind of crap that will begin to happen. But rather than complain I guess I should make as much cheddar as I can while I can and get the hell out of this lousy business before whatever is left of my dignity and self-respect is pried from me and piano playing hands. (And yes, I actually can PLAY!!) Hip Hop is dead...Long live Hip Hop! -SWANGgetsdownfromhissoapbox
