Either the guy is still having hip pain or doesn't need the money because he screwed thousands of his fans out of $77 each to pay his legal fees.

Their tour runs right through to September this year!!!! Admittedly they have taken breaks, but in those breaks they have been busy in the studio working on their new CD!!!! They have literally been around the WHOLE world!!!!

Also, Fleetwood Mac are touring again, bringing the USA to its knees with their blistering Unleashed Tour!! And they are all in their 60s now!!!!!nod nod

He should be afraid, and probably is.
Now is not the best time to be doing a large scale arena world tour. The economy in the USA is in bad shape, and no one has much spare cash. And I doubt that the world economy is in much better condition since the two are usually connected.
There are also a lot of big names going out on the road this year. U2 being one of them, and with a lot of competition for a dollar doesn't help either.

At most he should consider a small scale theater tour somewhat like he did for the ONA tour. It would be much less expensive overall, thus much less risk of losing $. Plus I think the fans would like it more. I know I would.

Um, yeah...watch how much Coldplay or Fleetwood Mac move around the stage or control the crowd. It ain't the same intensity. Both those groups are damn near soft rock/easy listening most of the time.

Well, Prince doesnt exactly MOVE anymore on stage, does he????? lol lol lol lol

And have u been 2 a Coldplay concert???? Chris Martin jumps and twirls and leaps, does splits like a crazed maniac whipping the audience 2 fever pitch!!!!! And for a guy in his 60s Lindsey Buckingham still plays guitar like some maniacal Zen-Master doing blistering guitar solos!!!

Whens the last time, in recent years, have we ever seen Prince do really long orgasmic guitar solos( now he just gets into a guitar solo and then suddenly stops!!!! lol lol ) or even played the drums(like he did when he took over from Sheila E in the 80s)?? Whens the last time he jumped, twirled, did the splits, and excited the audience beyond fever pitch????? biggrin biggrin biggrin

Um... Chris Martin just wobbles about like an idiot. Coldplay live are the most middle of the road durge i've ever seen. And as for guitar solos... you obviously weren't at any of the O2 London shows as his guitar playing was awesome and long in places. He may not do the splits anymore but for his 51 years he still dances and covers the stage.

I believe touring the world probably tires him now and he knows he can set up a residency and people will come to him.

1. You are over emphasising what Chris Martin does in concert to make him seem like James Brown. Chris Martin is not Bono, he is not even as dynamic onstage as Justin Timberlake.

2. When is the last time Prince played a "long orgasmic guitar solo"? Played the drums? Jumped, twirled, and excited the audience beyond fever pitch?

Um, have you been to or seen a Prince concert recently? Come on. I ain't talking TV or small aftershows, I mean 21 Nights in London? Putting Coldplay live over Prince? You are over reaching.

I don't believe prince feels a requirement too. There appears to be a lot of criticism here about him but to be fair has anyone toured as much as him over the space of their career? Come on give the man a break. Also I feel Prince feels the need to target a specific country at a time-where he feels it is faultering. I think he did a world tour in 2002 as this was the beginning of Prince trying to win back recognition on the world stage. The reviews at the time were the beginning of his comeback (Though I know he says he didnt go anywhere),I doubt his Musicology tour would have been as successful if he hadn't done the long hall of seeping back in to the public consciousness.
