Prince Songs at Pep Rallies?

I live next to a high school gymnasium and was listening to their pep rally going on.
They're playing some hip hop music because it is relevant to today's youth,
and remembered that when I was in school, they also played 'hit' songs of my generation.

That got me to wondering if anyone has ever had any Prince songs played in any of their pep rallies,
I don't remember any Prince songs in mines though.

The cheerleaders once used "Computer Blue" for a routine at a pep rally. I loved it. It was always my fave song on that album in high school.

That's cool, and an interesting choice for them to do a routine to.

I think Erotic City or Girls and Boys would make an interesting routine too.
Except I don't think Erotic City would be appropriate.

I was in the Pep club, sophomore year (1984) we danced to 'Let's Go Crazy'. The cheerleaders danced to "When Doves Cry"
Our school colors were Purple and White, so the homecoming theme was-
Purple Reign.
Peace. Love. Prince

Two different radio stations had school spirit contests. You had to write "KJ 103 Knows That US Grant Has The Most School Spirit" on an index card. The school with the most cards won the free danced hosted and DJ'd by the radio station. We won both radio station's contests. I remember them playing "When Doves Cry" and "1999". They both happened to end with "PUrple Rain".

It was great how they edited it. The swoosh part before the solo starts was edited to play 4 times in a row. I remember different sections of cheer leaders falling to the floor, face first, each time that played. They really edited and used it well. I almost wanna say they did use "Erotic City" once, or parts of it. Not sure.

Our school didn't. The closest thing 2 P our school played was "Strut" by Sheena.

Our drill team also did a routine to "Baby Let's Kiss" from Jesse, though.

The Housequake rhythm line is totally a cheer. My high school squad used that beat in a cheer a good ten years before Housequake came out.

I just wish we'd had the imagination to yell, "Shut up, already! Damn!" at the beginning of it. disbelief
