Flashback Funk

It seems there is a common thread with the Lotusflow3r CDs, that being a strong funky 1970s sound and vibe.

In the 1970s America was in transition and struggling to find its identity. As a result, many people sought ways to "escape" the not so "beautiful" America (Vietnam, Nixon, Oil Crisis, CIA/FBI probes, etc.) while experimenting with a "new world" attitude (ERA, earth day, disco, drugs, sex experimentation [like swinging], long hair, etc.).

What are your thoughts on why, at this point, Prince re-introduces these concepts, sounds and images?

I've yet to hear anything about a 70's vibe re: these records on the org. If anything, it was Prince saying MPLSound was an 80's throwback (which it ain't).
