Prince's Charities

He does do charity projects and doesnt make a song and dance about it like some of these other celebrities. We've heard him talk about it in interviews in the past and of course the SST single for Hurricane Katrina. But what others have there been, the schools he was meant to have built, were they music schools? giving to back to the community etc, did he build a homeless unit? it would be nice to hear something positive about what hes done and give credit where its due. Anyone know if them?

i know he's done some charity work with an Urban Farming organization (name escapes me) with taja sevelle (a former associate/somewhat protege). i think the intimate NY concert when 21 nights was being released for such a charity. there's also the stuff he does for the Tavis Smiley Foundation which is more focused on leadership development (for youth) and social issues in general that affect the african-american community

Yeah but thats all you've heard. Prince hasnt been charitable in a long time unless he does it in secret.

You don't know at all what Prince gives to charities. He is not the sort of person in need of putting his charitable contributions on the pages of the news to "Get Credit" or to make it known. People who give freely don't necessarily have to tell the world that they "gave" to this one and that one.

Instead of wondering how much Prince gives, why not concentrate on how and where you can give to charity.
Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

I think we find out about some things, but knowing how generous Prince is...He believes in the passage, "Don't let your left hand know what your right is doing." And that's sweet. cool
