No it isn't. Save your money...and this is coming from quite a Prince fan.

The book is just a vanity project, pictures aren't particularly mind blowing and don't really show a window into Prince's world, it all looks too posed and staged.
The CD is a let down if you actually were there and heard how good the main concerts were (I have also heard much better unreleased recordings of his shows).
I only looked at it twice and ever since its been gathering dust in my cupboard.

Save it and buy his new album instead (which I have yet to hear but am looking forward to hearing).

prince was right 2 release the aftershows cause the main shows sucked ..strange but true
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

I bought the book specifically for the CD inside. I never even looked through the photos in the book . . . I took the CD out and put the book away.

As for the CD itself, it has a few moments but otherwise I could've lived without it. I don't have any real "buyer's remorse" because it only cost about $30.

I'd say this: if your Prince collection has any gaps in it, fill those first before even considering this book/CD. This is at the bottom of the "importance" list.

My sentiments exactly. I did leaf through it, though. I was surprised at the low quality of the printing and the graininess of the photos. Other than the decent slip cover, the book itself is really quite terrible. The CD is OK. I'm glad I paid only a little over $30 as a pre-order.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

What struck me from the photos was "Ohhhhh, that is actually Prince's world." Hotel rooms, airports, preening, make-up, clothes, photo shoots.
Music and the performance and the fans are virtually irrelevant. That's where he is now.

As far as being "too posed", the guy hasn't appeared in public without a hair out of place or a full face of makeup since forever.

I gave the cd a few more listens and thought it was not bad but the power trio aftershow is some of the best stuff I've heard from Prince in a long time. I love that show.

As far as getting the new album, it's ridiculous that if you live outside the States you pretty much have to go on an auction site to get a physical copy. Aint no way I'm going on his stupid azz site and paying for a download and he chooses a retailer that won't ship internationally. Duh

First, we're ALL quite the Prince fan. You won't find casual top-40 Prince fans here.

Second, any CD, book, movie etc is a vanity project in some regard. Artists want to be seen, they want to "express" themselves, it's ART, etc etc blah blah. Just sayin'.

Yes but it was a missed opportunity, the pics weren't that exciting as they were too staged and the choice of live songs sucked compared to the amazing stuff he actually did. If any of you heard a live bootleg of it or were actually there will know that the best was NOT chosen. So it may sound good if you don't have the rest to compare it to, but after hearing a lot, this choice was strange.

Paid $31.99 US for it when new, that included 7.50 for Postage and Handling to New Zealand, like Lotusflow3r I was probably the first kiwi to get it on October 8th last year. It was better then when I paid for it it was one $NZ1 = 0.81 USD, now one NZD is only .60 USD.
So what are u going 2 do? R u just gonna sit there and watch? I'm not gonna stop until the war is over. Its gonna take a long time

Well again, it's all in the eye of the reader. Some are happy to have some nice pics of him, the show, etc. Some would rather read the liner notes to Graffiti Bridge.

I have all the shows from 02 on audio bootleg, plus a couple/3 DVDs of video of shows.
