PrintableI love this album its one of my top favs. I like it cause the music dont really have anything to do with batman.THA FUTURE is one of my favs "hollywood conjures up images of the past, NEW WORLD NEEDS SPIRITUALITY THAT WILL LAST!" what the f does that have to do with batman. TRUST is like a slap in the face to all politicians. Princes message didnt change because it was a movie he still put his message in for those that were listening. I dont think the message is any different than the Rainbow Children or any of his albums for that matter. And that shit on the batman sound track is the most bumpin shit you cant sit still and listen to it you gotta move. I've heard people acctually complain about this aspect that they feel like they HAVE to move!!! | |

Coming off the back of LOVESEXY and SIGN O THE TIMES, how could it not be a letdown? Ofcourse, a 'lesser' Prince album is still a pretty damn good one.
On BATMAN, we were introduced to some amazing guitar work and astonishing vocals (in Scandalous, sometimes he sings three different ranges in the same line!). Plus, I think it was the last album with Prince practically doing everything. No band - just Prince. It's short and deceptively simple but it's Prince doing things that are second nature and that in itself, is not a bad thing. | |

My favorite song from that cd (Batman) is Vicki Waiting...kinda an updated but playful Darling Nikki. I despised Trust. I hated , hated, hated, hated Party Man. Then I bought the 12". The video version is classic because of this line :"Owe! You bastard. Look what you've done to my hair." Hahahahahahahaha!!! Scandalous was Adore until the remix. I still play that song to get me some from the boy... _________________________________________

I always liked what the Batman period had to offer.
He had stripped down, it was a little dark. The Partyman video is one of his best videos. First video with M. Bland: "Who's that fat guy playin' drums?!" I really like in the Batdance Batmix when the horns and Rave Un2 vocals kick in! I have never seen a 10 minute Batdance video though  "Midnight is where the day begins" |

yes, yes, yes nice Batman album, EllisDee i haven't listened to the original since... i've been doing that with a few of prince cds... adding in the b-sides and longer versions of the songs... i've beefed "purple rain" and "around the world in a day" up to double disc sets that i think are much better than the originals... especially "around the world in a day"... it's probably the most listened to cd i own...
