I was just scanning over the list and remarking that very few of the "big" artists who receive incessant radio play have even gone platinum with albums that have been out for weeks/months. If the popular acts cannot move big numbers then the legends certainly aren't going to either. It's definitely a new day. Earlier I was watching a VH-1 show on the top songs of the '90s and so many of these singles sold millions. For example, they said "Ice Ice Baby" went platinum 15x over. That will NEVER happen again. Those days are gone. At the end of the day, it's about the music though. Most of the stuff I dig never sells big, so I could really care less.
