I didn't spell out the last word in the title in an effort not to offend anyone. I am sure you can guess it...has anyone else heard this song. It starts off like Shockadelica but then goes in a totally different direction. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

It's an official song by Ween from their 1990 debut album entitled 'God Ween Satan'.

the song is called L.M.L.Y.P. (subtitle: Ween is in big trouble dudes) and contains next to the Shockadelica part also the rap from Alphabet St.

Nothing 'fake' about it, rather a tribute to Prince.

The credits are quite funny: all songs arranged, composed amd performed by Ween except "Shockadelica" by PRINCE - Controversy Music ASCAP. (note: there is no Shockadelica listed as one of the songs, I find that funny
and than at the end of the credits:
"oh yeah, middle rap from L.M.L.Y.P. taken from "Alphabet St." by PRINCE Controversy Music ASCAP"

i meant fake in the sense that they were trying to sound just like Prince
which led people to believe it was him

Ween is cool. They have several songs that fans of Prince's '80s music would definitely appreciate. I saw them on new years day 1999 and they opened with that song ("1999"). I have seen them play "L.M.L.Y.P." (or "Shockadelica") several times, and also saw them do "Kiss" in the middle of one of their songs called "Voodoo Lady". They have been known to cover "Purple Rain", and VERY occasionally "If I Was Your Girlfriend". Try the album "Chocolate and Cheese" first, then "Pure Guava". If you are not hooked, well, at least you tried. I hope this leads to a new discovery for a few people to enjoy.

I said fake because the original file that was going around when I got it was listed as a Prince track, which it was not, so, for me, it went in the fake pile...
