He sure is but his show should be great with Billy Crystal on that night.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Leno had a lot of great guests, including Prince.

And this was announced back when Prince was on the Tonight Show for 3 days in a row. It was in the press release that he would come back for one of Leno's final shows.

It's great that Prince will leave his mark on the last but one Tonight Show. The Tonight Show with Leno will be dearly missed. I was especially fond of the opening segment jokes.

I was hoping Mel Gibson would be on the same show as Prince. The last time they were together Mel was hilariously uncomfortable around Prince!!!

Prince: Mel Gibson, what shakin' baby!!!

Mel: (thinking) Is he hitting on me???

Prince: You wanna go see a movie???

Mel: (thinking) Oh my God, he IS hitting on me!!!

You could tell Mel Gibson wanted to get the hell outta there.
JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!!

Mel didn't get that Prince had JW issues with The Passion of The Christ, and that's why he made the statement. It was kind of dumb because no one got what was going on and Prince looked retarded, and Mel looked very uncomfortable at the retardation. However, I would have love to seen them talk about it on the air for a segment.

Not to mention Prince's being deep into Mel Gibson since "Lethal Weapon" hit the theaters. cool Being at the premiere was one thing, but the way Prince kept following up with fan mail and recording that song, "The (Mad) Max," disbelief

Mel had a reason to be uncomfortable.

I kid, I kid...

Not preposterous at all. Be realistic about it. Let's go to school.

Look at Prince's history with trying to debunk the very idea Jesus was crucified on a cross, but instead impaled on a pole. If you know history, both are true. People were impaled and left to die a horribly painful death, often hanging for days with a pole through the torso at an angle, impaled just so they COULD languish in death for days before the gave up the ghost. Jesus died within roughly six hours that afternoon. Not days on end. He died soon after he was put up there (having been scourged and beaten and starved earlier that day). So why didn't Jesus hang on a pole and languish near death for DAYS instead of HOURS? Because he wasn't impaled. The idea of people being impaled just so they would have incredible pain, but be able to stay alive through it was used as a scare tactic by the government to strike fear into the population to stay in line, lest they suffer the same horrible fate. (The same way terrorists used video cameras to behead Americans and show the world, in an attempt to "scare" America out of Iraq and the Middle East in general.) However, as an interesting note to the history of executions: using the cross, as we know it in a "t" shape was used a very short time, and it just so happened to be during Jesus' life time. That is no coincidence, but let's stay on point. The idea of impaling versus the way Jesus died contradicts Prince's idea, especially since he thinks he figured it out reading the Bible, yet the Bible gives the time line very specifically. Prince has now rewritten the bible (although the JW's have already done that for him).

Look at the JW religion believing in Jesus, but not that he is the Messiah as Christian's and Protestants believe.

Prince said on VIBE with Sinbad in 1998 (while promoting NewPowerSoul and Crystal Ball), while sitting next to his svengali Larry Graham that "Jesus was crucified on a pole. Now you can cut that how you want, BUT IT'S THE TRUTH." He believes that, and has for at least 10 years of Graham's JW guidance into all things Jehovah Witness and twisted. Even Larry said "After researching, we realized Jesus was crucified upright on a pole, not on a cross." I guess Larry was THERE in 33 AD and watched it all go down. rolleyes

Look at Prince talking about it LIVE on an award show when he did his whole "stauros" stance before butchering "The Cross" into "The Christ", mirroring what was said on VIBE. (Even Chaka looked embarrassed to be there trying to ad-lib over that song, probably as much as the audience, and a lot of us fans, was embarrassed by his rant.)

Look at a year later, Prince ranted on about "The Christ" on the Rave 2000 DVD.

All these points were within a short 2 year (or less) period.

Fast forward to 2001, you have The Rainbow Children which solidifies his JW stance (and remember....JW's believe Jesus to NOT be the son of God and the Savior of the world, as Christian's do).

I said all that to say: My point of him wishing he could make a bigger dig at Mel's film about Jesus Christ, the son of God and Messiah to save everyone and crucified on a cross, is valid and true. Prince had issues w/ that film, and Mel didn't know it. Mel didn't care either probably. The film was a phenomenon among Christians and gentiles alike.

I know full well what humor is, darling. Prince was being facetious and funny at the same time. Prince doesn't care about Mel Gibson. Why else would he say ANYTHING to Mel besides "hello" on his way to sit down? He didn't say a lot to Kathie Lee Gifford when she was on with him. So why Mel? My point is made.

Not to encourage this argument, but I find it ironic especially after listening to Last December and Ol School Co. where he refers to God's Son.

'Retarded', 'Retardation'. What is it with you yanks!!!! Just no empathy whatsoever. Absolutely pathetic. Shame on you guys. Well, what should we expect. Afterall, Tiger Woods and Obama seem to have the same medieval outlook on people with special needs. Depressing.
