Click 4 seconds into the "Lotusflow3r" CD?

Has anyone else experienced this? It's on the right channel. It's a bit disconcerting...love the album though!

I hear it. You know there are two similar mistakes in the "U Got The Look" maxi single. It was also a dead give away that the songs on ULTIMATE were not, in fact, remasters, but rather the old tracks from a CD with the volume and EQ turned up a bit. The same mistakes from the CD were there...AGAIN.

Yup - I'd hoped (whilst suspecting otherwise) that it was a glitch on the download...alas not, it seems sad

Shame, cos on an audiophile system like mine, musical warts like that stick out a country mile!
...we have only scratched the surface of what the mind can do...

It's definitely on the CD. Have you heard about the "U Got The Look" ticks? There are two of them.

Yes I noticed!

But I think it was already there when that piece of 'From The Lotus...' was on the teaser website as background music for that weird little clip.
Maybe it's intentional?

I don't think they are. It's not a keyboard click or something like that, it's an obvious audio glitch.

You mean you hear a 'click'?

This more than likely occurred in the final mix down of a track.

i assumed it was intentional. meant to sound like a blast of static, like the album is being switched on. if you listen with headphones, it's actually on the right and left channel, but moreso on the right.

And it occurs at the moment the sounds 'trigger off', if that makes sense.

It sounds intentional to me too. The click fits in with the static/tuning in feel for the opening. I'd say the mistake is not to have it happen a few more times.

I work as a Video editor, and was taught that if you do something once it looks like a mistake, you need to do some thing at least 3 times for it to become part of the style.

My question is, has the Org ran out of things to discuss that we are now debating the relative value of a click only 4sec into a song? Have we truly exhausted all the "What color socks does Prince wear on a Thursday?" type questions? wink

If it is being used as a production element, it's odd to say the least.

Changing the subject, what colour socks DOES Prince wear on a Thursday?

It's an unintentional glitch (.021 seconds long, to be exact).

The entire glitch is within the red circle; you can see how the how audio stream flat-lines for a moment.
The *tick* sound (in the right-channel) is circled in yellow.

I removed it from my download copy, but left it in the CD rip - just in case P did hear it and say, "No, leave that in - I like it!" lol

I may be wrong, of course, but it clicks exactly when the music starts and after the click there's a sec of static or a click echo/delay on the right channel. Sounds like a studio-made switch to me, just my two cents.

My Gold Experience album does this all the time. Sounds like someone is clicking a keyboard before some of the tracks start. confused
