Was John L. Nelson's father a musician, too?? Just curious as to whether Prince's father's father was a musician. | |

It's been well documented that Jebediah L. Nelson, grandfather of John L. Nelson, strummed a mean banjo at a riverside juke joint in Minneapolis during Prohibition. He fronted a group known as The King Nelson Trio.
However, John L.'s father, Jake, was an accountant. Go figure. | |

Well, EXCUUUUUSE me all to hell!!!! As an amatuer genealogist, I was just wondering what other talents lie in the Nelson heritage. if Prince "learned" (not literally, but definitely figuratively) from his father, maybe his father learned from HIS father, uncle, etc. I mean, look at John L.'s attitude toward Prince playing his piano. It reminds me of Robert Johnson trying to impress Charley Patton and Son House and them making fun of him because he wasn't any good. I think a person's natural instinct is to teach those who want to play music, i.e., follow in your footstops. To go about it the way John L. did, maybe somebody treated him the way he treated his own son??? After all, at the "Parade" after party, John L, did say HE was Prince, and that without him, where would Prince be??? Sounds like maybe he heard those same words decades earlier. Pure conjecture, maybe, but definitely a possibility worth exploring on my own. Peace out, in, and all around. | |

Genealogists do have resources to do their family tree research. The Mormon family centre is the gold mine for doing research. It's open to all faiths. Try there
