Ummm, actually Michael plays drums, piano, and I believe guitar. He also has composed, written, and produced some GORGEOUS music. (Read the linear notes, for starters.) Michael writes MOST of his music. He's definitely no Prince when it comes to being a MUSICIAN, but he is definitely a musical genius and a great songwriter. And, I wouldn't call him a slave to the "hit-making machinery" either. Some of his best songs could NEVER be on the radio. "Little Susie" on the radio? Umm, no. lol

And, finally, USUALLY (Quincy and Teddy Riley--back then--are exceptions) when Michael brings in people to work on music, they just mess things up. The songs Michael does himself are almost always the best.

I can tell u aren't a fan at all, or else u would know this. smile But, it's all good. I don't care that u aren't at all. Just know what u are talking about if u wanna try to call someone out. smile

sexy--excuuuse me, I don't mean to be rude, but u are an idiot. first off this isn't the michael jackson fan site. number two, artists do not have "linear" notes--it's LINER notes. I can't help but shake my head at your illogical comments---but, hey, you ARE a woman. You mention that michael plays all these instruments, but that clearly doesn't mean he plays them WELL--certainly no way as well as Prince. you mention when michael brings in outsiders, they usually mess things up. Well, little girl, u are crazy. Quincy Jones produced Thriller, did he not??? It IS mj's best-selling album, right???? Hmmm, quincy didn't mess anything up, did he??? And slash didn't mess up whatever the hell song he played on, and steve stevens didn't mess up "dirty diana," did he, now?
I'm defending Prince, as this IS his fansite. One last comment: if michael is as prolific as you say he is, why doesn't he hole himself up in the studio by himself and put out a quality cd????? I know: he HAS to rely on people like Akon and Will.I.Am to come up with something viable. Prince looks at it this way: if he can't do it himself, it's not worth doing...Act II coming up?????

lol WOW. U are rude, and I could be incredibly rude back, but I won't. All I need to do is state the facts. I think that will take care of it.

I didn't proofread my post. I must be a complete moron who knows nothing. *rolls eyes*

And, Michael does play piano AND drums well. I also NEVER said he plays anything better than Prince. I also specifically said Prince is a better musician.

I never once said this is a MJ fan board. I don't go to MJ boards, because I don't need to. You can defend Prince all u want. I love Prince. And, I didn't say one negative thing about him at all, so why are u "defending" him??? I simply was correcting u on what u previously said because u obviously don't know what u are talking about. I don't care if u don't like Michael's music. I could care less. I could care less if someone disliked Prince's music. People have different tastes. But when ppl are so strongly opinionated AND have wrong information, it's annoying.

Concerning people working with Michael, I also SPECIFICALLY said aside from Quincy and Teddy Riley. So, why are u going off about Quincy?? (Thriller is DEFINITELY not Michael's best album, by the way. It's actually one of my least favorites, even though it's still good.) And, I adore Quincy Jones, so u are preaching to the choir.

And, u are VERY wrong about him relying on people like Will.i.am and Akon. He hasn't liked anything they have presented to him (or Ne-Yo). Like I said, Michael is making a mistake by working with them, but oh, well. Michael's independent stuff is usually a lot better. Also, just because someone contributes to a musical aspect of a song, doesn't mean it's a bad thing. Prince doesn't write his string arrangements. Michael does. Prince is a bad ass on guitar, Michael isn't.

LOL...Man. People on here kill me. lol

I love that someone is getting worked up over a post they didn't even read...apparently. LOL Ahhh, well. Have a great day! smile

PS-I'm far from being a "little girl," but if u think that bothers me and makes u feel better about urself, then by all means...go right ahead. lol

I doubt it. I'm sure 'Darling Nikki' inspired some similar songs outthere in the pop world but not 'Dirty Diana'. I actually prefer the latter in all honesty.
