you mean that it sounds "deeper"? or just that he uses more guitar?

sometimes i miss the gloud guitar sound.

i used to miss the golden symbol guitar sound most but it seems to
have been featured on lotusflow3r. well, perhaps the purple symbol
guitar. or another guitar completely that just happens to sound a
bit like it.
and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

That cloud guitar in concert was horrible. Very twangy and dry and high pitched. The Hohner always had a thicker and better sound. Him using the cloud in concert for "Purple Rain" made it sound really bad, since the solo was recorded on the Hohner.

I respectfully disagree. I love the sound/tone of the cloud on the Livesexy shows, particularly 'purple rain'. As great as Purple rain the album track is concerned, i find the solo kinda weedy and mixed far to low. Its still one of my faves though :nod;

It being used on the Purple Rain tour was horrendous. It was squealy. The song is thick and lush, but that guitar is a whiner. It was a big better on the Lovesexy tour (I saw the tour live). There were times on the SOTT tour it was just like rubber bands on a stick.
