TAKE NOTE PRINCE!!!!!

Dear Prince,

I have just registered on Fleetwood Macs new official online Club at www.fleetwoodmac.com IT WAS FREE!!!! I get regular newsletters, access to music and videos, a chance to blog and post messages 2 the band and other fans as well as other stuff due 2 commence shortly, plus access to an awesome merchandize store!! I DID NOT HAVE 2 PART WITH ANY EXTORTIONATE AMOUNTS OF MONEY!!!! For a band of their calibre they could have asked for a very substantial membership fee!!!!!

ONCE AGAIN IT WAS FREE!!!

You make a very good point with ur post and I believe many would agree. However, Prince does what he wants and for me I'll take whatever he gives (or charges). Fact is P has really opened up with in the last decade. From access to soundchecks to a lot more music compared to before this last decade. I once paid 25 cents for a concert ticket (El Rey news conference)! I mean cmon', that's pretty good!
I realize in comparison to other artist it aint' much but I'll take what I can get hence/forward a happy fan/fam!

That's the problem.

That's an isolated incident, not the norm. And how good is that if someone has paid $100, or $77, for a "life time" (of the site) membership, and you still have to pay for a ticket? How much is your wallet down now?

Listen, I am on the same boat as everybody else when it comes to the money that I have given up. I'm not rich and even though I share some of the frustration, I still am a happy camper! Too much time and energy is spent on negative vibes and I choose to look towards the positive. It's in my nature.

I'm not about dwelling on the negative either. There's plenty of positive in the Prince world. But besides a Tshirt, and an album you paid $89 for, what did you get? The videos? I bet I have most all of the videos on there in high def already, either from the TV broadcast, or at least something besides a flash file video that I've been able to convert, put on DVD, and on my Apple TV (and/or iTunes/iPod).

I hope Prince doesn't love money, because if he does, he's already disobeying the Bible he reads. Even the "New World Translation" BS edition he reads says "The LOVE of money is the root of all evil."

Think about what U are saying...$77 dollars...goes almost nowhere these days...It really is such a small fee for a yearly subscription...

Although...If U know that U are the type of person to complain about how U have spent your money...Why get the membership in the first place?

It's similar to a group church thing...U give money happily or don't give it at all...because nobody here wants to hear the gripes anymore.

If U love Prince...just be happy you are a part of a membership supporting him...I bet the people that complain...threw a hundred dollars down their throat last month on a Budweiser buzz. cool

Tame: I havent seen many bands asking for a premium fee like $77 - usually its $10/$20 or free. Im willing, if there is something, but I can get premium seats by joining the venue's fanclub or AMEX head of the line or VISA... there are a thousand ways to get good tickets. So why exactly did i spend $77? cause I'm a fan and I trusted him. And now he hasnt delivered on expectations. Not even close. I am let down.

If it's such a small amount, perhaps you and others could provide a new stimulus package to Orgers that are struggling. $77 spent the right way can go far with groceries, bus fare, gas in one's car tank, and a host of other things.

Although...If U know that U are the type of person to complain about how U have spent your money...Why get the membership in the first place?

The usual for them probably....promises, hype, glitz, some fancy flash animation.

If U love Prince...just be happy you are a part of a membership supporting him.

So people should just send him monthly or yearly stipends? What are they supporting? His Cuban boot fetish? Hip surgery? Pain pills? A new geetar?

Dollars to donuts FAMS not only paid $77 for the website and got to download the album(s) a day early, but they also went out and paid $12 for the actual CD at their local Target, totaling their alimony payments to Prince at about $89. And they got....a t-shirt, and a couple copies of the SAME album (sans one song)? Oh, right the videos.

Yeah, see, I have those on DVD. I recorded and edited them right from the broadcasts, put them on DVD as well as ripping them so they're iPod/iTunes/AppleTV ready (as anyone can do for any media source they wish to play it on, instead of suffering with flash versions). I paid $12 for all that.

Also, I get that the overall theme of Fleetwood Macs new Official site is a deep sense of COMMUNITY, of fans getting 2 know one another, sharing stories and experiences of, not only being a FM fan, but also of life and love as a whole, which to me, in these times that we live and the world as it is now is of far more importance than some stupid over-packaged, over-priced iPod, of which the packaging is a total waste(I only hope its made from recycled materials!!!! lol ). My purple velvet box that his perfume came in is now sitting in my closet gathering dust inbetween its fibres!!!!! Yes, there is a merchandize section on their site, but its not the WHOLE theme of their site!!

I agree with Ernest!! $77 for most of Princes fans can go towards far more important things in their lives, like for example an electricity bill so that we can keep our computers and our CD Players functioning!!!!

Prince needs 2 wake up and get his purple head out of his purple ass and into the REAL world!!!! lol lol lol lol

Nope, never said that, so please don't speak for me.

What I said was that I am not going to pay $77 for an album I only had to pay $12 for. And a t-shirt, too, you say? Okay well 77-12=$65. When's the last time you paid $65 for a t-shirt? Uh huh, that's what I thought..NEVER. And whoever did is a fool.

If he plays live, of course I'd pay. I know what I'm getting at a concert. I've been to his show before. I've also been to his site(s) before and THAT ain't worth the cashola. Although I'm not a Fleetwood Mac fan, I checked out their site. There's a LOT more going on there, easier to navigate and offers a lot more for free than Prince's cryptic password just to get in the damn thing.
