I have a couple of different opinions about Prince turning down "Guitar Hero."

First of all, I agree that it took Prince a long dedicated time to master this real instrument...

Secondly, I still think it was a poor decision to turn "Guitar Hero," down, because kids are all over the place...at their friends and playing sports.
Kids do a lot of things that is far removed from dedication to something. As a parent I encourage the child, although if their driven desire is as strong as Prince's to learn an instrument...they will.

Video games I do believe are damaging with long term use and addiction. I personally don't play them. I have bought video games for my kids over the years and the one thing I learned is that as an observer, I enjoy watching kids stand and play music with "Guitar Hero."

Kids are still learning the finger exercises which is limited...yet it's something musically involved.

If I were Prince's manager...I'd get a song on there anyway...Prince can always teach beginners in some other way...how dedicated U have to be with your time to be a real..."Rock Star." cool
"The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

Just b/c u can play an instrument doesn't mean guitar hero isn't fun. I play several instruments as well as many of my friends & family & we still all have fun playing anyway.

Seriously! Don't knock a video game because its fun to play. No game developer ever said this was a easy replacement to play a real instrument! Why some people are against it for that reason should realize that's not why they made the game.
