O(+> Greatest Hits It seems that with the proliferation of hits packages of "Prince" music, that there should be a great package of music as well. Prince was for a good seven years. It should probably be a "Very Best of" opposed to "the Greatest Hits", because the good music he had out during this time was stunted by the name change and the overt attention to the WB fight thereby suffering from lack of radio play and chart impact.
However, there is still a great deal of music under all that press and hoopla. So the list should be stuff released under the name . So stuff like COME, or The Vault wouldn't count, because they're credited to Prince. Even stuff on Crystal Ball that was recorded under PRINCE times wouldn't count, so "Acknowledge Me" would, but "Dream Factory" would not. It'd be a great two CD set, perhaps with a bonus third EP with some misc tracks (much like The B-sides was to The Hits, sold only in the set). Not sure how all this times out in the course of 1 or 2 CDs, but here's my list: P Control Endorphinmachine Betcha By Golly Wow! The Holy River Jam of the Year Face Down Chaos and Disorder Dinner with Delores Love Sign The Return Of The Bump Squad Get Wild The Exodus Has Begun The Love We Make One Kiss At A Time Saviour Sleep Around Acknowledge Me Shhh! Interactive The Good Life Until U're In My Arms Again The One So Far, So Pleased Baby Knows Man O War Days of Wild The Most Beautiful Girl In The World Rock N Roll Is Alive (And It Lives In Minneapolis) I Hate U Gold Thoughts? I've compiled many "Hits" CD's over the years. One is similar to the Hits/B-Sides from 1993, with songs from 1994-2007:
Disc 1: The Most Beautiful Girl In The World Letitgo Cinnamon Girl Fury Shhh Extraordinary Dolphin Guitar Lolita I Hate U Family Name One Nite Alone... A Case Of U The Holy River Baby Knows Gold The One Prettyman Disc 2: Musicology Come On Endorphinmachine Dinner With Delores Space Te Amo Corazon The Truth Betcha By Golly Wow! U Make My Sun Shine Call My Name Black Sweat The One U Wanna C Get Wild The Work Pt. 1 The Greatest Romance Ever Sold (Jason Nevins Remix) Days Of Wild The Ride Last December Disc 3 (B-Sides etc.): Rock And Roll Is Alive! When Will We B Paid? NYC Live (Jam Of The Year/Face Down) United States Of Divison Dear Mr. Man (Live Webster Hall) Somebody's Somebody (Livestudio Mix) East Xpand 1999 The New Master Purple Medley Kirk J's B Sides Remix Some tracks i would include now (like S.S.T/Brand New Orleans or Song Of The Heart) i couldn't get back then, so i would slightly altered this set nowadays (plus some tracks Lotusflow3r/MPLSoUND)... @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

The Love We Make Thoughts? This is an amazing song. The best song on Emancipation and maybe his best as ... I think its a shame it is not recognized for what a great song it is. Seems like it was last song Prince wrote that was grounding in some real emotion which make it easy for us to relate too. Its a shame about the source material (the death of Wendy's brother) but Prince sure wrote a great song about him.

^ that's true about The Love We Make, a very beautiful song - only a shame there's no guitar solo at the end Prince 4Ever.

^ really and I don't agree,
I know these 2 songs are credited to "Prince", still they are from the era 1993-1999 Letitgo and Space are too great to be missed, imo.. btw.... there's a few NPG tracks too - on the list. [Edited 5/9/09 16:10pm] Prince 4Ever.

So it could be that version (which was from a Montreal concert), or the CB version either one. You'd have to nix "letitgo" and "space" since it was a Prince credit, not . There should be a Hits 3/4 covering from 1992-present.

Exodus and NPS were released while was in effect, so they'd count. I'm not sure you could fill a disk of Very Best with just those three CDs, so you'd have to include them on the Very Best Of.

^ It's allowed to include NPG tracks, but not the 1994 tracks from Come?
In the Beautiful Experience tv-special some songs from Come were credited as songs afaik, I'm talking about Come, Pheromone, Race, Loose!, Papa, Imo..... the Come songs would fit very well on a hits compilation... but I see we can't agree on this, lol... Prince 4Ever.
