Yes, it is apples and oranges, and I acknowledged that in my post. But, when so many people are dissing the latest Prince efforts, I expect something better than "Closer." So, SupaFunkyOrgangrinderSexy thinks that Lotus and MPLS is weak. I think that "Closer" is weak or uninteresting to me. In fact, I've never been moved by Reznor's work, and I've been exposed to it for years. It simply proves the point that maybe the people who feel that Prince has lost it or no longer has it or who are upset at how he treats his fans or thinks that he creates crappy websites should invest their time in celebrating another artist rather than spending their time trying to tear down an artist.

When I used to write book reviews, I never published negative reviews. I would have the journal send me at least three books, and I only discussed the books that I thought were well crafted because it seems more constructive to me to analyze or celebrate what has been well done, even if it is just an opinion rather than telling someone what's wrong with something. And, I acknowledge that my way is simply an ideology that can differ from someone else. Now as a poet and fiction writer, I expect to get good and bad reviews, but I don't spend my time trying to convince people who don't like my work to like my work. I concentrate on getting my work to people who like it because in the end, it is all taste. So, why not frequent a site where "Closer" is more of the taste? And as for Maxwell covering the song, good for Maxwell. It still does not cause what I just heard to move me in any way. That's why I visit Prince.org and not Reznor.org.

Trent is still sore about the time he passed Prince in the hallway and P ignored him when he said hello. He more than likely didn't know him or was just being Prince. This was some time in the nineties.

I haven't kept up with his latest offerings, but that Saul Williams "Niggy Tardust" record he produced was amazing!

Who has been referred to as a Genius countless times by his fellow musicians, peers etc...Prince or Twent?

Its not as if a 'musical great' had passed these remarks, he is obviously very jealous and seeking attention and devoid of any class what so ever to make petty comments about a fellow 'artist'.

Lotusflow3r and MPLS are fantastic albums and from what I can gather I am not the only one who thinks so. I have been a listener of the mans music for 26 years now and to me there as good as any he has put out so go fuck an orange.
