I've been a fan of Prince for 27 years...and this latest album is the shittiest piece of shit I've ever heard. I don't know WHAT you people are listening to, but the fact that he had to market through Target is pathetic in itself, and very telling. Maybe I got a different version of the three CD's that cost $11.98 (I suspect they cost so little because he knew the songs were shit), but I think they are terrifyingly horrible. I can't even listen to them at all. He needs to release songs that are better, maybe he already has them. That's what Trent is saying. | |

There's no constructive criticism in saying someone's music "sucks".
I'd take him seriously if he actually gave examples instead of making blanket statements Has he actually listened to Prince last albums, or is he just talking out of his ass? People talk about Prince's ego and and supposed "little man complex" (how very mature)??? This guy drops a couple of songs on a torrent, puts an album on a USB, and now all of a sudden he's acting like God's gift to music on the internet. The worst thing about this is that it gives the whole "Prince needs to follow everything Trent does" crew a reason to run their yappers even more. Those people are more annoying than the most hardcore Prince apologist. I think it bothers Trent that he's not Prince. Everything he does seems to be an homage in one way or another. Obviously, they don't sound anything alike. But I can sense a kind of obsession in Trent. This is what Prince was talking about on Tavis when he likes constructive criticism, but statement like he "sucks" isn't gonna make him a better musician. If you think for a second, "Prince is more talented than Reznor so Reznor should shut up" is not really a coherent position.
