I'm not really interested in going to Prince's house. Truthfully, looking back over the years, I think my enjoyment of his music has been damaged by finding out more and more about Prince the person. I think the mystique really works for him. it's time for a new direction / it's time for jazz to die

I was directing that at him. why would he need to bring something so irrelevant to this thread. As if my opinion on something Prince related doesn't matter or hold merit. I must say though I'll bet if either him or you registered on lotusflow3r.com and recieved an email that you were cordially invited to go to his house you BOTH would jump on the opportunity. shit I'll bet even Bart and Supa would too but in Barts case they'd have to beef up security. Now back to that Trent guy topic. who is NIN? To Sir, with Love

Now back to that Trent guy topic. who is NIN? But I think this is a valid line of inquiry. It's highly unlikely that I would jump on an invitation like that. I am 100% not interested in Prince as a person. Especially after 1995. This isn't hate; I just know we have so little in common that being "close" to him sounds more like a serious bummer than any sort of sweepstakes prize. I saw Prince live twice in the '90s and I think I'm pretty much over that as well. He can still crank out awesome shows. I've heard a lot of them from the '00s. But I don't know if I'm really all that interested in standing around for hours wondering if this show will make me angry or if it will be cool. Especially not if he was twenty feet away and able to see me standing there not dancing (which is what I do -- I don't dance). The celebrity side of him is so completely boring to me. Jeffery Katz took awesome photos of him and I always liked the clothing and artwork associated with his old albums and tours, but again, these things are media products that I enjoy consuming on my own time. I don't need to wash my hands in his bathroom. There was an Ice Cube song on the Kill At Will album that summed up my position on these things. it's time for a new direction / it's time for jazz to die

It's the moral of the story that I'm trying to apply to this situation. In the song, the Ice Cube fan brings his woman to meet Ice Cube and then pesters Ice Cube with all sorts of fannish requests.
What I'm saying is, I'm not trying to be on Prince's dick. it's time for a new direction / it's time for jazz to die

Reznor is correct. If Prince has all thesegreat songs why hasn't he released even one in the last 10 years. I know many on the board will say he's put out many great songs but that's living in fantasyland. Prince used to write and release great songs - those days are over, folks. the music knows what your motives are when you are making it
listen to The Replacements - its good for the soul

So are you a member of NIN.com? Why would one have to be a member of a website to agree with an opinion? That's almost as ridiculous as saying the only way one can have an opinion is if they're musicians or have played 100 days at O2 or they're a purple assed bottom or whatever other ridiculous things have been said in here... (okay, the "bottom" thing was funny...) • Did you first think Prince was gay? •
Wendy: He’s a girl, for sure, but he’s not gay. He looked at me like a gay woman would look at another woman. Lisa: Totally. He’s like a fancy lesbian.
