It wasn't until highschool when we integrated with the kids from the rich part of town that I was really exposed to all that. I didn't get into alternative and rock music til I was 24. the same exact experience happens with white kids in the opposite. Many in both camps stretch their musical wings as they grow into adulthood. I really think we need to stop this part of the discussion. I whoeheartedly agree!! Some orgers always find a way to take things to a whole new level to the point it gets out of hand and way too personal. VERY well said. I feel exatly the same way. As we all know at least here we are in an extreme recession in which has hit me hard with being unemployed for the past 7 months. But being a huge Prince fan and really wanting the album I simply was a part of it all by purchasing the album at Target. I can live without another T shirt of his.As for Trent Reznor slammin' Prince, "Plaaaeeese!!!" That no talent hack of b.s. sensationalism wouldn't know a good song if it kicked him in his pie hole. I'm so tired of all of these lame ass wanna be rockers who ain't even qualified to perm Jimi's hair and put on Little Richard's make-up and Pro Tool rappers who can't find middle C tryin' to cook in the kitchen and ain't got no grease. For the past 10+ years, I've considered Prince the baddest muthaf***in musical artist on the planet. Honestly, Reznor is gaining ground, and in my own opinion, I'd consider him 2nd to Prince in terms of quality of catalog. Prince's last 3 albums (Planet Earth + LotusFlow3r/MPLSound) could have been cut down to one single, kick ass album. Instead, we get 3 less-than-mediocre(Planet Earth), and 2 mediocre efforts that don't hold a candle to the last 3 NIN albums. Trent's just telling it the way he sees it, he's not "hating", he's being honest, and it's a TRUE DAMN SHAME that Prince and Reznor's proposed collaboration years ago did not happen. Talk about ground-breaking musical work.....potential. | |
