Its okay with me that you keep whining about you don't like what Prince is doing at the moment. But please stop with bringing up Trent Reznor for comparison. That guy has been creating the same kind of boring, self-obsessed fake-rock since the mid-nineties. In potential Prince wipes the floor with him on every level (songwriting, composing, arrangements... or should i say: quality?) Prince has been releasing Emancipation and worse for the last 13 years! 2010: Healing the Wounds of the Past.... http://prince.org/msg/8/325740

IS THIS CONFIRMED Did he actually admit to that?! [Edited 5/7/09 14:20pm] I wouldn't say it if I hadn't read it in another thread. That's why I think he was so bitter to not get past the security flaws of the site so he could download his music for free. He found out a few days late. So he came back here instead and bitched and moaned about Scott moreso than Prince but it appears he's back to tuggin on Prince's nuts. To Sir, with Love

Let me simply state: I take Rivers punky powerpop ANYDAY over the often very mediocre 'drab' by that self-obsessed Reznor. That guy 'acts' much to serious for his own good. An annoying pose IMO. 30 years from now people will still enjoy singing along to some of the better Weezer songs, while they probably puke on the annoying self-obsession of people like Reznor and Kurt Cobain. From Prince himself. If he wants the purple world to be peaceful he needs to be a bearer of peace instead of division and strife. GetAwayFromMe said: BigDaddyHQ said: All I know is that regardless of the mixed opinions of people concerning the quality or lack of regarding Prince's recent out put... all that matters in this situation is...
Who the fuck is Trent Reznor? If not for a couple people here holding his sack all the time... I wouldn't know who the hell he was. Nor would I care. And I still don't. I could ask the same question to every one I know... and they would give the same reply, " Trent who...???" According to 'you guys'... he's done some very fan friendly things with marketing himself to his fans. But what does that really have to do about his music? The only people who will utter his name in the same sentence with Prince are his own fans.. while everyone else is still asking "who?". Ugh, another one who lives in a cave... Jesus? Why did Housequake have to close? LOL... I live in a cave because I don't like nor care about NIN or Trent Reznor...? NEWSFLASH!!!! Everyone does not listen to the same music. We all have different taste. Trent Reznor may be a household name to you... but that says more about your 'individual' taste rather than mine or that of the general music listening population. Some people just don't like his genre of music in general and therefore... don't know him, don't care to know him and really don't think much of those who do know him. But of course... your little cave comment, in truth, shows that you're the one with musical blinders on. Because in your limited perception... you can't phantom that there are people... in fact... the majority of people in this world... who don't know or care about a Trent Reznor. So I guess we must be living in a mighty big ass cave. Hell, its the friggin' Batcave and I'm throwing a party, Old skool Chicago House style! You and Trent are not invited.

Trent is completely right. Prince has been hiding out on the merits of years long gone. He hasn't made a cohesive record since Lovesexy. If you think differently you should get your ears checked because Trent is on the money. I try time and time again to like a Prince release. I'm a HUGE fan, but he hasn't impressed me in years. Trust me. I wish Trent was wrong but sadly he's not.
