Who'd like to see Prince make another movie?

I would.
In the 1980s, you could argue that Prince's movies were a bit "hit & miss" because his ambition and ideas weren't always matched with good judgement. I think that's changed.
Now, Prince knows himself more - and probably makes better decisions.

I doubt he WOULD make a movie now - partially because he's so independent now. I don't really see him working with a team the way it would take, to make a movie.

BUT - if he did make a movie now, what kind of movie do you see working?

Taking from some his recent material, here are some of my ideas:
1) Like the Chocolate Box video - Prince as a kind of "overseer" of some otherworld. His messages are only truly understood by 2 characters - Upload and Download. smile
2) From Te Amo Corazon - a small cast, with Prince as a complex lover in an intimate setting, a passionate romance. With Salma Hayek?
3) From Ol' Skool Company - Prince leads a kind of retro scene, with all the real connections and vibes that are missing nowadays. Later we find out that they've all left the earth, that this is the future, and that the earth has basically self-destructed. And yes, the ship DOES have a Paisley Park. smile Perhaps they are the Rainbow Children. The time-shift theme has to involve Prince in a CGI-duet with Hendrix! (Okay, not - but the rest of the idea stands.)

So - should Prince make a movie? What kind?

How about Prince playing God and holding Planet Earth in the palm of his hand?

The soundtrack would be widely criticized.

How about warts and all behind the scenes movie in the same vein as In bed with Madonna or Metallica's Some kind of Monster.

If he tours this summer it would be a perfect opportunity to do this kind of documentary.

Could be fun - he could totally play up the "impossible megalomaniac" card!

Some very unexpected and totally atypical role in a Quentin Tarantino movie would be, in my opinion , the only way for him to make a comeback into the movie world.Something where he doesn´t take himself too seriously yet nothing too lighthearted. Regardless of his previous film efforts, I think he still has some great roles inside him, and he definitely has the right amount of discipline to show the skeptics that he can act if he´s really into it.
I find stuff like MovieStar or that Italian restaurant skit on Exodus hilarious and I think he could easily play something in that vein, or maybe something really unexpected and obscure, a role where he´s not afraid of looking ugly or silly.
" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I wouldn't mind Prince as a voice in an animated movie. Thats about it unless its a concert film with behind the scenes stuff.

I wouldn't want to see another Prince movie

I think the 80's was the right time for the ones he did
But I wouldn't mind him being a part of a movie,
Anyone who saw Collatoral remember the scene where they went to a Jazz club and the lead trumpet player(a real life jazz musician) was going to be killed by (Tom Cruise)

Something like that where Prince and the band are playing an aftershow or impromptu and the 'stars' of the movie walk into a show and we are blown away with Prince and band on the stage, to hype it more he should have Sheila Wendy & Lisa Rhonda or Brown Renato or Dr Fink Eric & Maceo, just to get the eyes of the audience moving it would really spark something

I don't want to see him MAKE another movie, but if someone gave him a minor roll IN a movie, that had a good director, then why not?

I would like to see a "Truth or dare" kinda of movie. Concert footage and behind the curtain type stuff. I want to see Prince in his private life, in the studio and working with others. That is what i'd pay for.

I'd pay $100 for an honest 2 hour movie like that. Full on, no holes barred, just like Madonna did. I mean, she REALLY put it on the table back then. It made her human again, because then you saw her personality aside from the "I Want To Rule The World" thing. It was the perfect thing for her at the time. Prince could take a HUGE nod from that type of thing.

Even Janet putting a camera IN THE QUICK CHANGE ROOM was a first on a concert DVD. To see her just doing that was great. But you can't even see Prince walk off stage. Justin's DVD followed him under the stage, and all the way from the stage to his dressing room at the end of the show. It reminds us that despite any greatness we attached to a rock star, they're still human. But then again, Prince is not a human, he is a dove, he is your conscience, he is love ... or whatever was on his mind. bored

I'd like to see him in a small role in a movie that is not a Prince movie, where he is not playing a Prince like character. Something where every time he's on camera he steals the scene, but not where he has to carry the whole movie...

Purple Rain II
It's 'Now' and he's a dad to a Girl
She is in American Idol and trying to make it BIG in the music industry.
Prince & Appleonia are Divorced and the "Kid" lives with Prince
They don't get along & they don't talk much
To cut a long story short he gives her a demo at first she's not interested but after her dad falls off his bike & seriously injures himself she uses it and dedicates a song to her father.... every one loves it and she wins! cool
I've got the whole story line figured out!
I'm sure there's a Protege out there that can pull this off!
