I'm Predicting A Couple Grammy Nods for P

It's way early, but given his respect by his peers, I suspect P will get a couple Grammy nods from the Lotus discs

Here and Better with Time should get nods for best male vocal (r & b i'm assuming)

Dreamer, Wall of Berlin, Colonized Mind could all be nominated for best male rock with vocals

whaddya think?

I don't know. I hear CREED is releasing something this year. He's gonna have competition.

That would be cool if he was nominated for a lot of awards and win a few. That would make this experiment worthwhile.

If they decide to overlook L.F and the website Prince should get a mention for all his achievements and for the help he's given Bria and all the other artists he's assisted over the years - do they recognize that stuff?
Or are they only interested in bimbos like Britney???? It's as if those artists that get bad publicity do well at the awards - they prob give one to Chris Brown to help boost his moral. neutral

He thumbed his nose at the record industry on this one. I don't think it will garner any nominations because of that alone.

well i figure planet earth was release widely but initially came out in london via a newspaper so P has BEEN shunning the industry machine and both the songs i mentioned for nomination (Here and Better With Time) are better than Future Baby Mama. so IT IS possible

I don't think he will get any nods although I would not be completely shocked.
Frankly, I don't care. I am past the time when I needed my musical tastes validated by awards, or airplay. Lotusflow3r is one of the best things I have listened to in a long time and it just gets better with more spins. Heck I am even now digging Morning After and Love Like Jazz.

I am just thankful Prince continues to produce quality music that brightens my life.

The Grammys can nod all they fucking want. It means nothing is Prince isn't there!

I want him there, looking as gorgeous and resplendent as he truly is! biggrin

man, listened to Lotus yesterday for the first time a couple weeks and it ROCKS as an album such nods will probably go to more "traditional rockers" though, but P deserves some recognition (though he could care less if he gets it and I don't care either, it'd just be nice to see. I want others to hear this stuff). BTW, i like Love Like Jazz when i first heard it!

Yeah, to be honest the only track that really would have any chance might be Dreamer, but even that is lukewarm and kind of a Hendrix re-hash

Wall of Berlin has some insane musicianship going on. Colonized Mind is like a rock ballad, Boom has great guitar work. Probably won't get any "rock" nods per se, but i think more than just Dreamer is "rock-enough" to get a nod. We'll see

You folks have short memories (better get some ginko or something)! He has two recent grammies (albeit not for rock). One for "future baby mama" from Planet Earth, the other for "call my name" from Musicology to add to the numerous others. So, he has not been snubbed or forgotten by the grammies. In fact, the year he performed with Beyonce' he said that they invite him all the time to perform but he only chose to accept that year! However, it would be cool to have him be recognized yet again though and not out of the realm of possibility. wink

Absolutely.

IMHO, Lotusflow3r, from beginning to end is strong enough to receive an album nod, versus just a particular song. Seriously, if anyone but Prince had released this album, it would be a shoe-in.

I honestly believe this will make it into a lot of people's top 10 as it ages and gains perspective.
