He performed it a lot on the ONA soundchecks for fans, as well as the Celebration in 2001 or 2002. My friend Connie Castillo (LilMayte on AMP) got up and sang it with him at the Celebration. I still listen to that mp3 file. She was, and is still, so proud of that moment, and frankly who wouldn't be thrilled that they got to sing with Prince???
Oddly you can still hear Brenda's voice on the Bangles version. Mixed a little low, but the original background vocals are still there, with The Bangles singing over it all. It's pretty much Prince's version they use anyway.

Yes. The eyes. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

It's interesting that even though he gave this 2 the Bangels during the Parade era (and the song fit could have been a Parade inclusion or B side) it was meant for the Apollonia 6 album for Purple Rain, I think it fit more with Parade, but the version that would have been release for Parade might have been different. I did hear the version with Apollonia and I still think that one bends more toward Parade

Swa I've only heard the outtake with Apples on lead vox, Brenda and Suzanne on backup. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Swa I've only heard the outtake with Apples on lead vox, Brenda and Suzanne on backup. Prince is definitely in the mix. "I'm not human I'm a dove, I'm ur conscience. I am love"

I think that the Apollonia 6 CD should be re-released and include Manic Monday. That would be sooo cool!

I'm fairly sure I've seen video footage another bangles show with prince onstage where he's playing tambourine rather than guitar and he's wearing a shiny suit...it was on the show rapido in the UK
Love manic monday | |

Not only is Prince playing a Gibson (!!!), but if you notice, all the girls are just playing simple barr chords - which is usually the extent of a girl's guitar skills - and Prince is playing some complicated, inhuman Minneapolis funky chord.
(Not to sound sexist or anything, but it's true.)
