Okay let's note this: First, Prince never said the woman was "European" who misheard the lyrics to "LRC"

Second....MY OPINION ONLY, but I think he was joking about Mayte's mother with the LRC comment. He was being a bit fascious when he said they were "acquaintances". Tavis' laugh seems to, to me, indicate he was in on that joke (knowing who Prince meant). Mayte's mother didn't speak great English, and the "cute" daughter was indeed Mayte.

The irony is that Prince misspoke his grammar when he said "She didn't speak the English language too GOOD", should be "too WELL", IIRC. Now whether he was being ghettofabulous about it or just misspoke, it still happened.

Because that is what the media likes to do. Only report what they feel like reporting and of course it is going to be negative.

For the record, there were 8 presidents under the Articles of Confederation, which preceeded the Constitution. History has just never considered those guys PONTUS.

Probably because the Constitution wasn't ratified yet. We weren't a union as we are now.

Yes, genius we weren't a Union but we had president like leaders prior to being a union. Jesus you guys kill me not wanting to acknowledge that P and Dick may be right on this one and you miss the whole point about why this sort of thing along with loads of black history is not taught in the schools.

Which was the whole point of P bringing this up. Tell us what happend or what is going on but don't hide or leave things out.

OK, but the people Prince are talking about really didn't have substantial power. They weren't, in effect, "leaders" in much of a meaningful way, at least compared to the Presidency that Washington filled.

Nobody is hiding anything. The reason history books don't spend time talking about people who presided over the Continental Congress or the Congress of the Confederation is because they didn't have much influence over the political events in question. They're simply not relevant.

Prince doesn't study history close enough to see the forest from the trees, so he's a perfect target for this kind of trife conspiratorial nonsense. It's just focus on the irrelevant.

lol Too true.

Prince needs his own Florence Nightingale. A caretaker. Someone who'll knod understandingly when he goes off talking about how the gubmint sprayed hate rays into his pristine soul.

Your missing the point of the whole thing and the best thing to do is to go back and see what Dick Gregory was stating on the State of the Black Union.

While the lack of info on the presidents is really not a big deal is no different than the lack information about black history.

Something is wrong when information is just left out or twisted. I think that was the whole point P was trying to make.

Yes Laura, I get that. I know the ins and outs of a forum. However, it doesn't have to be PERSONAL. Prince ain't givin' a shit about any of us, so why are fans to fired up about him when their opinion differs from another? As Neicy Nash would say, "It's foolishness!"

It is not personal but to trash dude because he mentioned something Dick Greagory stated without even checking into. He said he found it interesting and like or not enviromental issue are terrible in urban areas.

It looks like P is getting slammed for running his own business and being his own man. You may not like the way he is running his business but you don't have to support it either. Seems like we are okay with the embarrassments in the black commnunity but angry with people who are actually trying to do something.

I find it irritating sad and disturbing to see what has happed to this board.

I agree with Laura.

A lot of times conspiracy theories point to larger truths such as the fact that poor urban areas suffer disproportionately from industrial pollution, environmental hazards and chemical waste.

To many of the posters, think of the "chemtrail" talk as political theatre and don't always take things so literally. Prince is an artist not a chemistry professor.
