I'm sure whatever he does next will be wonderful. I just hope he dosn't do what these rappers are doing now days and numbering their records. e.g...
Lil Wayne - Tha Carter, Tha Carter II, Tha Carter III Jay Z - The Blueprint, The Blueprint 2, The Blueprint 2.1, The Blueprint 3 Haystak - The Natural, The Natural II Eminem - Relapse, Relapse 2 Could you imagine going to the record store to pick up Purple Rain II or somthing... I WOULD SO BUY A CRYSTAL BALL 2 THOUGH! Are you ready for Jehovah's return? Cuz if you not *holds up TRC*

I think there's plenty of us who are playing MPLSound and Lotusflower to death and also plenty who played Planet Earth and 3121 an awful lot also. He has GPS on the cds. Don't you be spitting those words of evil! haha you're right. i'd much rather have another work of pop bliss like "planet earth".

God I can't agree more,..enough of 'changing'. Why does Prince have to always try to evolve, he sucks at it...if and when he changes he's never current with the times of music! I see Prince more pushing the envelope of music then evolving himself as a artist. Recently some of his new music is just plain aweful. Either stick what got you here, or change to something current with the times!... You want to have the spotlight on you, then play something people like, as in the general public not just your hardcore fans. GMAN [Edited 4/30/09 14:20pm]

They aren't playing it to death the way they did ATWIAD, 1999, SOTT or even The Black Album. God helps us if there is another TRC facsimile. How do you know that? Do you go to people houses to hear this for yourself? Not trying to start anything with you but where do you get that from? Maybe you were joking. You got to it before me Purplecam. The new CDs have been on constant play since I got them. Didn't anyone ever teach you not to speculate on other people's home life? Prince's Sarah

If there's one thing you learn about Prince if you follow him for any length of time, it's that there's ALWAYS new music being worked on - this is what it means to be a genius and a workaholic.

Take it for what it's worth, we may never see that.

Just cause you could only listen to Musicology 3 times doesn't mean that I did. I played it all the time in 2004. I was in Iraq and I played it regularly, even with the threat of bombs hitting my base. Same for 3121 in 06. There are a few CD's where I didn't play it a whole lot afterwards but there are others like Lotus/MPLS where I play it regularly, even if it isn't everyday but that's MY experience. I can't and won't speak for how other Prince fans listen to his music.
You gotta learn to take things w/ a grain of salt, and not assume someone is speaking FOR you. It's a generalized statement, and the assumption is there will always be an exception to the state rule. I think sometimes Prince fans love an album because of the memories around it, not because of the album itself. Parade came out the year I graduated high school. I loved it because it reminds me of that time, but I also realize it's a great album. On the other hand, Lovesexy came out when I was in the Navy. I hated the Navy, but loved the album. It was one of many escapes for me at the time. People might like Musicology because they saw the tour a couple of times, and it was a great experience, but is the album that great? IMO, no. To each his own. And I never claimed "On behalf of all hard core Prince fans...." [Edited 4/30/09 12:56pm] I'm glad that you said that it was just your opinion cause mine is different and not just because I saw that tour a few times but because I think that it is a great album.

Find me in November, and tell me what you're listening to on a regular basis.

well, i'll speak for myself as a hardcore fan thanks! I still love TRC, and, no, I don't happen to agree with the ideology therein ...but the musicianship is great.
Lotus and Mpls are still in heavy rotation in my house, so I'm enjoying them a lot. Respect a different opinion, but, as cam has stated, some fans' experiences are very different than the supposed 'collective; view expressed by one other.

What's all this business about Prince coming out with another CD later this month? I saw it on CD Universe.
