No one mentioned D'Angelo's cover of "She's Always In My Hair"...by far the best. Scream 2 soundtrack for those of you that didn't hear it.

TLC & Alicia's covers were the WORST.

cyndi lauper's cover of "when you were mine" is among the best...as well as the cutest.

Hmmm... A Ween cover of Prince sounds interesting. As for what I know, I'd HAVE to go with Chaka's "I Feel For You." Eighteen years later, the whole recomposition still makes me wanna be a rock star.

I'd also have to mention the Family's "High Fashion" and Taja Seville's "Wouldn't U Love 2 Love Me."

I do not like Sinead or her music, but I admit that she did a damn fine job of Nothing Compares to you. Jonny Lang does a song called "I am" which was written by Prince. I don't know if Prince ever recorded it or not, but it's funky tune.
