PURPLE RAIN hmmmm I listened to the download and I Would Die 4 U is Purple Rain, Baby I'm a Star is America and Purple Rain is 4 the Tears In Your Eyes this introduction of America at the Purple Rain concert was awesome all the musicians were on, Sheila E had a hot solo, Bobby Z tore up a quick electronic drum set solo(he made it sound really good and then...before it's time, broke into a serious House beat(house music fans?) around 13:00 minutes into the song [Edited 6/29/09 9:58am] | |

Every single picture on this thread reaches maximum level coolosity. Good lord absolutely love that PR look; the hair, the clothes, the attitude. The entire band, Sheila, Apollonia...ALL SO DAMN COOL LOOKING THEN (not that they all don't look wonderful now, it's just that PR style was so fantastic)
AND THE MUSIC. I thank my lucky stars for having been able to attend one of show on the Purple Rain tour. One of the best memories of my life. | |

For some reason, when the tour hit California, it went to a whole new level. the shows in San Francisco and L.A., sometimes they opened the show with "17 Days" or "Controversy"... sometimes they played "Head," "Raspberry Beret," "America"... a different show every night... | |
