PRINCE: An angel cured my epilepsy

April 28, 2009, 8:35 AM EST
Entertainment Tonight
Prince reveals he was cured of a serious childhood health condition -- after encountering an angel.

"I've never spoken about this before, but I was born epileptic," he told Tavis Smiley on the author's April 27 show. "I used to have seizures when I was young."

Music's most secretive star went on to tell the talk show host that he was cured after being reassured by an angelic apparition, saying, "My mother told me one day I walked into her and said, 'Mom, I'm not going to be sick anymore.' And she said, 'Why?' And I said, 'An angel told me so.'"

During the show, Prince also discussed a difficult childhood and the complicated relationship he had with his father. Regarding music, he predicted that in the future, all artists would own their master recordings.

A ridiculous attempt by the media 2 jump on an old, outdated bandwagon of "Prince is Weird".

They don't mention what he says right after that:

My mother told me one day I walked into her and said, 'Mom, I'm not gonna be sick anymore.' And she said, 'Why?' I said, 'Because an angel told me so.' Now, I don't remember saying it, that's just what she told me...

What we have here is a loving Mother, trying 2 make the best out of a difficult situation. ET should be ashamed, and anyone who has known anyone with Epilepsy would be enraged that they decided 2 leave that part out.

Agreed. The link between epilepsy, Asberger's and childhood genius would be a more interesting avenue here.

I disagree, how is the media trying to jump on an old bandwagon, if this IS what he said? I have childhood epilepsy in my family but why should I be enraged? eek

Because they intentionally left out what he said after that, which was that he didn't remember saying that, but his Mom told him he did.

It's offending, because by leaving that out, and simply going 4 the "Prince is weird" angle (which is tired and outdated), they R not letting people know how a particular family dealt with epilepsy.

The story manipulated his quote out of context - Prince didn't say an angel cured him. The article says he did. End of story. Me responding to you is like God wanking a fly.

My sense is that Prince believed his mother when she said an angel cured him, though. Otherwise, why propagate it? Here's a question though. If his epilepsy should return, would he consult the aforementioned angel again or would he place trust in the very boring here and now, i.e. modern-day medicine. I think I know the answer...and that, ladies and gentlemen, is why I hate the religious...their hypocrisy stinks to high heaven.

Prince did not say an Angel cured his epilepsy and he said he doesn't remember sayin wat he said about the angel but that's wat his mom said he said.
Now why did they leave that part out?

The thing is, how can Prince remember what he has said and didnt say and 2 whom and who has said what 2 him going back to his childhood, particularly with the life he has lead throughout his almost 51 years on this earth!!!???. Unless he has an impeccable photographic memory!!! Hell, I cant even remember what I said 2 someone last week, let alone when I was a child, and I am the same age as him and I havent even led half the life that he has led!!!!!

Also, now that he has revealed that he had epilepsy as a child, to me, this answers a lot of questions regarding the birth and death of his baby with Mayte and the cause for the skull deformity!! maybe it was something else that caused the baby 2 b on life support directly after the birth!!!

You wait, mark my words, this will b all over the media by tomorrow morning!!!!nod

I'm just glad that he does not suffer from it now-it is a terrible thing to go through sad Prince has had an angel over him forever-you can see that in the way his music has touched and helped so many through hard times including myself wink

Obviously this angel must be mean and capricious...why not cure other babies of epilepsy as well as Prince? That is, unless it enjoys the prospect of other babies siffering? Come to think of it, why wouldn't such an angel get rid of epilepsy in the first place? It would seem to have this power. Therefore, i can only assume it to be unkind, cruel and wrongly selective.

Is it not obvious to those who believe such nonsense that they have all their work left ahead of them? I mean, don't you people ever take the next step? Only when we emancipate ourselves from such stone-age fear and ignorance will we consider ourselves truly enlightened.

Not quoting nobody, but there are so many crazy people who swallow any old B.S. Prince babbles.

Angels?!

I buried the Star Wars Trilogy in an airtight container in the Sahara a few years back. 2000 years from now when it's dug up? George will have created the Truth.

Probably.

biggrin

(I didn't really. edit)

Don't you read that much then?

Angels = Sci-Fi, ghosts, aliens and UFO's.

No proof = Scepticism.

Also, where was this angel during the traumactic stillbirth of Prince's child? It uses it's power to cure Prince's epilepsy but can't quite bring itself to intervene to help the life of another innocent.

If you believe this nonsense then you also have to believe that this angel might be a little suspect too. At the very least, it enjoys using humans as playthings.

Calling somethng ignorant is very different from articulating why you think it is.

Don't think we'll be hearing from you again.

Lord never gives us more than we can bear wink and yes I do believe in angels I happen to have five that have been watching over me since I was 6 years old-my family. You need to be careful what you say to people because you never know what they have experienced until you've been there.

Good for me? You really have no clue and it's really sad that you just chalk someone's life experiences up to just a story. The org needs to pray for you and pald1. My experiences and opinions are my own and how dare you chalk them up to just a story. It 's really sad that some posters on the Org are so ignorant and scary at the same time.
