Lets Go Crazy...when is the line about Purple Banana? I love tying to quess the quotes by the welcome to "the org" line...but I seen this quote before....where in the world is the line before and after "the Purple Banana" quote in "Let's Go Crazy"?...this reminds me of the Tavis Smiley interview when he said people had usual interpertations of his lyrics...and where in the world do you find the most accurrate, concise and up to date Prince lyrics? Was it good 4 U?
Was I what U wanted me 2 B? If it's not alright...it will B Because...even when I lose...I win

We really have a good process of trying to determine the most logical and clear statement of what Prince is singing. We vote, we narrow it down, we vote on ALL suggestions by the membership, and we come to a final conclusion. It's a process, believe me. I've noticed a lot of lyric sites cutting and pasting our lyrics into theirs. I've had a couple of disagreements w/ the votes, but majority wins; although an issue can be brought up later if we feel so inclined. I've said it before that I boycotted voting or even listening to The Rainbow Children. I despise that album, and told Ted I wouldn't be a part of it, UNLESS they had a tie and needed a tie breaker. Also..I just emailed Ted about a lyric from "The Screams of Passion". I noticed Ted had noted "velvet splash" in one line. Susannah said Sunday that, in fact, the line is "vulva splash", and he noted that she had seen a lot of lyric sites that had gotten it wrong. It is indeed "vulva splash", not velvet.

I only got to listen to the first hour and must have missed Susannah say that. Velvet splash makes more sense to me, 'cause a leaf can have a velvet feel to it. Vulva? That's crazy talk Susannah. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Vulva splash? That is just ridiculous. Because...what...there are naked women out standing on their heads in the fall? And leaves falling onto their wet hoohas and making a splash? It's velvet splash - because when leaves fall...they fall softly and silently to the ground. Context, people. Context. [Edited 5/1/09 4:49am] We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

And why would anyone use the word "vulva" in a song?
That's just nasty. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
