Purple Rain on Blu-ray? On Amazon I see this is available for $12.99. I already own the 2-disc DVD. Is the blu-ray a significant leap up in quality in terms of video and audio compared to the DVD? BTW, does the blu-ray audio sound better than the CD also?

It looks better than the DVD, but not much. It's not a great transfer :\ I wanna be loved to the 9s, so let me cover your ass with this sheet, and baby, you better stay on the beat! Cause you know the Karma Sutra? I can rewrite it. But, with half as many words. | |

Well the film is old, and who knows who has a real master to copy from or if that's what either DVD was digitized from. They should clean up the negative, and process it. Lucas did that with the early Star Wars films. They were SO faded, they were almost gone. They quickly put them through the paces, and restored all 3 movies (before he tinkered with them), and it was a spectacular enhancement. Too bad they don't do this for older movies in general before putting them on DVD. | |

Funny thing is that there's a Purple Rain Blu-Ray that someone is selling new on Amazon for $80, why $80? | |

I have it on BLU-RAY and it really does look amazing.. way better then the 25th 2 DVD set.
That was the 1st blu-ray I bought..just like the 1st dvd I ever bought 8 YEARS AGO!! | |
