Which one, "Alladin" or "Rave" dvd?

Please, can you help me? I want to buy DVD with Prince concert and I don't know which one is better..Rave Un2 The Year 2000 or Live at Alladin? I know they won't be as good as "SOTT" movie, but I'd like to see some recent Prince performance.. (Could you write +/- ?)

The Rave DVD would have been excellent if it weren't for so many quick cut shots throughout it. At times it can be a little frustrating to watch. But the performance was great.

I love the Alladin DVD - great band and set.

Rave is an emabarassment - the only prince thing I can't watch.

Well..I would probably buy them both in the future ..I will see how much it costs and choose the cheapest one. Tomorrow I'm going to Bontonland (big music shop in Prague), they always have some old Prince stuff for a really good price smile

Copycat

The "Alladin" DVD is far superior to "Rave', but the production is almost amatuerish. From the poor image quality to the occasional jerky sound and video, it gives one the impression that it was shot on a shoestring budget.

Audio and visual quality on "Rave" are better. The "Rave" concert is about 2 hours long with several interesting bonus, when "alladin" last about 80 mn. although I prefer the performance in "Alladin", I recommend 2 star with " Rave".

'rave' is weird though, it feels stilted and not very prince, some good bits, but strange athmosphere. i would still go for 'alladin', pity it looks like it was shot on a camera phone.!

imho.

4 sheer all round entertainment value go 4 'Rave'!
from the blue spandex & glitterextravaganza, pertpetual splits sequence, the mystical piana, crowd surfing & lennytasia collab it's jaw droppingly funny
but the setlist is nice, if only 4 'she's always in my hair'. there's some fab hip thrusting action during that song..
'Aladdin' is more sofisticated. he looks simply delicious & his collab with nikka costa is class, great setlist & crucial wacky elements during wholelottalove heart

there's something wrong with the build up of the show. you get some prince, some lenny, some time. it feels hussled and mixed up. Thats why still SOTT and Lovesexy Dortmund are far better. (I know, SOTT is synched and all, but still feels better)
